The tackle by Keady was late and deserved a booking. I reckon Keady was annoyed though by O'Neill (and Barrett once) leading with their elbow every time he went to head ball. Doesn't excuse the tackle of course. Apart from that Keady was solid and did well.
McCarthy definitely handled outside the box and should have walked. Referee bottled that. I think he tried to make up for it later by giving Limerick a very, very soft penalty (the kind that Limerick usually have awarded against them). Goldbey wanted to make a game of it though.
It was a fine win for L37 but most impressive was the nature of it. Whenever possible L37 got the ball down and passed it through and around Cobh. Rossi and Joey Maloney were impressive and were a constant threat to Cobh. Goldbey and Moran looked good (especially Goldbey I thought who put Moran's first goal on a plate for him). He made Guthrie's night miserable.
Paddy and Finny were excellent. No hassles - clearing lines when they had to and taking a touch and playing when they could.
Waters and Hayes did well in the centre but could struggle with bigger midfields.
The most impressive thing about the performance was that each player worked hard. There seems to be a good spirit in the team. Ski has done a good job so far. But, as I was saying last night, someone should tell him that Limerick managers are not supposed to shout instructions at their players or remonstrate with officials. We're not used to it - it will have to stop. :)
