Come on... Even if some of the players in the league are good enough to play in the national team, the vast majority aren't. What's the point in having a break for international games if it's only going to affect at most 4 teams in the league. Even then they'd only be losing one or two players each (taking into account u21 games too).
If we had breaks for the internationals, think of the fixture congestion for the likes of Derry and Drogs at the end of the season, with rearranged games building up due to European and cup committments.

Not only are they missing out on tv revenue, smaller crowd due to clashing with cl and being a mid week game, they are also missing out on the thousands of fans coming to the city for the Welsh game which a good few of might possibly go to the game (country folk, Exiles and maybe a few Welsh.
If the Fai had any clue they would target these people and could boost the attendance by a few hundred or possibly more.
Bad decision as regards the attendance. Every effort should be made to increase attendances not the other way around.

Known troublemakers are travelling, why would we encourage them to go to the game?!
I agree that postponing the game is an admission that the Gardai are basically incompetent and can't police their way out of a wet paper bag, but lets not live in a utopian dreamland where we set out to attract a load of Welsh hoolies to a game that will unfortunately attract lots of local undesirables as it is.
Nobody comes out of this with a lot of positive press.
I'm delighted it has been rearranged for selfish reasons. I don't get home from India till the 24th March and it would have killed me to miss a Bohs v Rovers match:D
