I wasn't clear what I meant - I'd prefer a bit more independence from existing fundraising operations/organisations. Keep the trust as a seperate entity as far as possible.

Absolutely but at the same time you need people with the best interests of the club at heart and with a club our size there's going to be a little overlap. I think the balance looks pretty much right. Meeting next Thursday seemingly to get it up and running properly after the abortive meeting last time

From what I hear Athlone were the only club willing to take on Davy Byrne, there wasnt a mad rush for him at all. He is dead wood that had to be gotten rid of...money has to be freed up...
