There are ways to secure futures-you simply have to want to secure them first of all. I don't think Drew gives a rats ass abot the future of Limerick FC now. He saw it as an egotrip that he could make money out of 2 1/2 years ago...now the cold light of day has slapped him and he now knows that EL football isn't a cash cow like Munster rugby, so he wants to run Good luck to him I say...thanks for trying, but now run off and stick to the curry sauce, or tiles, or whatever it is you're actually good at.

Like what? They had no money - it was pre-Charlton etc. They certainly had no money to spend on alternative grounds for one club.

Leases are agreements between two parties - nothing to do with FAi unless they are one of thse parties. The people who are parties to the lease - they decide what goes in to it. If one of them wants to put this stipulation in then it is a case of negtiation. The FAI have no role.

For someone as sanctimonious as you are LFC in Exile, you don't come up with a lot of solutions yourself. My opinions on Danny Drew are based upon experiences I've personally witnessed at matches, coupled with business dealings I have had with the Drew family outside of football.

I do believe he is a spoofer...I do believe that he is self-centred, and I do believe that the investment he has shown to Limerick FC over the past two years will stop now that he realises theres not going to be an easy pot of gold in it for him.

All I was saying re the Rovers situation is that the FAI could have done more to help them. Regardless of it being pre-Charlton or not. Incidently it wasn't pre-Charlton-Kilcoyne sold Miltown in December 1987, a time when Ireland had just qualified for their first ever major championships under Jack Charlton!!

As regards alternative resources for the club, I have about as many ideas as the next man. A trust, proper lobbying of the right people, who knows. What I do THINK is that this Drew character is going to turn out to be possibly the worst thing that has ever happened to Limerick FC. But that's just mu opinion....

Milltown was sold in December 1988. The FAI did nothing then for us just as they are doing nothing now.

This was proven when they elected the scum Lucifer to be President. Can you imagine this happening in any other country? The guy who killled off the biggest club being elected to President of the Football Association?:rolleyes:

Anyway good luck with any meeting with the FAI. They have a remarkable skill in saying a lot while meaning nothing.

I don't come up with solutions because I don't think there are any options. Whatever your opinions of DD we are in a situation where there is no obvious alternative investor/chairman. If I wanted DD out (as you seem to do) then I'd need to have something better in mind. I think a supporters trust is a great idea nad would be a better situation - but lets get realistic here, we can't even organise a SC meeting - how could a trust be organised?

If DD walks in the morning where is the club? It is beside the point what you think of him - if you want the club to continue then either we live with DD or we get real in terms of alternatives.

On the other one - when I said pre-Charlton I meant it was pre-money bags FAI. I absolutely agree that the FAI was and probably still is incompetent but I don't understand why you are arguing that the FAI should not get the lease and at the same time saying that DD is so bad. I am not (consciously) being sanctimonious - but thats in the eye of the beholder - I am genuinely trying to understand what your arguments are. :ball:

In 1990, McNamara pulled off a coup by securing the Royal Dublin Showgrounds as a venue for Rovers to play in but that particular era came to an end in 1996.

400 fans at €40 a week....sounds workable. Obviously a lot of responsible people needed to do this, but surely, surely they're out there.
