He's not a winger, he was only ever an average player when he was on the wing for us, in fact he should'nt have started after some of his performances in the 2006 season, then he was mved up front, was very close to a goal a game ratio and got his move to the Premiership.
Havent seen a whole lot of him but thats mainly cos he hasnt played much. He started against West Ham a while back and while he didnt look out of his depth, he didnt do a whole lot either. Alot of effort but not a huge amount of skill. Alot of Irish players are drawn to Sunderland but its not necessary the right move for them, i think O'Donovan is one of them. He would have had a greater chance of starting up front for Fulham

with regards to moving, a loan move to a championship club would have been perfect for him.

Give the lad time, its a big step-up from EL to premeirship. Doyle did his time in the championship before progressing, and he has showed what a superb buy he was.
i think he is doing well considering to be honest, but he doesnt warrant a callup yet
roy has 3 starts and 9 sub runs this season so far, no goals.
presume he is getting reserve outings, but no data on those, but who'd care really eh??
He has a few goals for the reserves and in friendlies, I think he gets a go up front in those games.Quote:
