PSG are sooo over rated. I'd think the English equivelent in terms of the quality of their team would be someone in the calibre of Portsmouth - a lot of flair and potential ability but lack consistency.

Let's not get carried away. PSG are a strong side - they're not in the top group of Europe's elite but they're are at least two levels above IFK Göteborg and easily the best side an Irish club has been drawn against this season. I think Derry can get something out of the tie at the Brandywell and for the club it is important that they do because it will ensure seeding in next year's European competition. However I don't expect Derry to knock PSG out of the Uefa Cup. Here's hoping I'm wrong.Quote:

Rothen is injured and it seems Dhorasoo and Cisse won't travel. Plus they have Mendy suspended. The rumour in Derry at the moment is that Pauleta, Yepes and Kalou will start on the bench but obviously we can not take that for granted.
have been watchin the french league highlights for last couple of weeks and they look really poor but would be better than Derry for sure!!

I expect PSG to go through but really fancy Derry to get something in the Brandywell. One draw is effectively worth 5 years of seeding in Europe to Derry and would probably guarantee our champions (possibly Derry) get seeded in next year's champions league.
It would be fantastic if Derry could make it through to the group stages.
Derry to win 1 or 2 nil at Brandy - I can see Derry scoring early enough and possibly scoring another in the closing few mins if PSG are not content with a 1-0 and try to score themselves.
I think Derry will be up against it in Paris. I saw PSG play Troyes last year, the atmosphere was fantastic, the team were unconvincing but Pauleta and some Uruguay lad - I think his name was Rodriguez were brilliant, if the top players for PSG perform they should win the tie but if they dont show Derry the respect they deserve then Derry will cause an upset
I reckon some people might be underestimating PSG a bit. I know that they have'nt been on the best form lately but they have some great players.

PSG are in a bad run, and the manager is under pressure. They have a strong squad though, and SHOULD beat Derry. I do think Derry can get something in the Brandywell, and if they could sneak a 1-0 win, who's to say they couldn't get through?
Enjoy the away trip lads, PSG in the Parc de Princes will be a special occassion. Its one of the best football stadiums I've been in. It might not have ergonomically designed seats and 2 McDonalds outlets for every seat, but in terms of atmosphere and as a venue for watching football its one of the best.

I would love Derry to get a positive result tonight but I'm a betting man so stuck a few quid on PSG to win 2-1. However, that's one bet I wouldn't be to sorry to lose on.
