My first away game was Lisbon in 2000 so it has great memories for me and what a cracker of a goal from Mattie Holland. Went with the bro and we had a mighty session with a guitar and a beer tray as a bodhrán on the Sunday night after the game joined by a touring Brazillian samba group.........and five of the maddest huares I ever met from Cavan!
Tel Aviv was number two. Terrible result, considering, but the the beer, craic, people and the sights (particularly Jeruseulem) were great.
Tallinn in Estonia was number 3 because we got to drinking and having the craic with the team that night after the game as they went on the rounds. Some session, drinking and singing and thanks Mark Kinsella you stuck your fist through me bodhrán.
The women were cracking and I saw the largest game of football between opposing fans in the square the day of the game. Must have been 40 v 40 think the score was 11 all. :D
PAris would be no. 4 with the crowd, session on the Moulan Rouge on the Friday night and the atmosphere in the stadium. Humming along to the French national anthem was classic and capped off with a great performance.
