I think he's made mistakes too but on the evidence of one competitive game the players gave their all (though why shouldn't they of course). I agree totally with Geysir though that I don't care how eloquent or not he is in interview, it's whether the players respond to him that counts.
Robson has been out of the picture for two games now and his input into selection & tactics appears essential.
Will his input make a difference though?,I don't think so.Surely they sat down over the Summer and watched the WC and decided what was needed to stop the Germans.Haven't they had enough time to concentrate on this game.We shouldn't be depending on Bobby Robson to help us out for the Cypriot game,if Staunton can't get the right tactics and selection for this game then we have serious problems.And another thing,I find it annoying in the interviews Stan always appears to be on the backfoot and never gives any idea where we can improve or why he thinks it didn't work out. The reporter asked him a question the other day after the game and Staunton replied with.."what do you think" :rolleyes::confused:
