I assume this is one of the two deals Pete Mahon mentioned in the Drogheda programme.
He was a year behind me school (primary, secondary and college actually...always seemed to follow me but I don't think he was stalking me).
Had an insane scoring record as a schoolboy and made a decent step up to el level. I was surprised to hear us sign him because though he is quite good he isn't filling the role we need most up front: a target man.
I'm sure he'll do a job but not the one for which we have a more pressing need.
At least it will give us another option on the left as we are short of natural left footed players.
I wouldn't mind seeing Micko back to help bolster the squad and the left side. He's got no club now.
Really? When did CHF release him?Quote:

Eh?!!
sorry to inform you guys but the O' Keefe deal has fallen through due to a bohs player getting injured in training this morning therefore bohs recalled him from loan before he even came!! so im told anyway.
but it was a done deal beforehand
Well as Dublin City are gone ( sorry to their fans but it begs the question whose next?) so their contracts revert to the FAI/EL which means they can be signed up by other clubs. In some leagues they don't allow you to sign more than two players from a defunct club. Not sure what the rules are in the EL, anyone know?
O'Keeffe scored four tonight for Bohs in a friendly against a Phoenix XI (presumably quickly thrown together after DC's withdrawal)
Paul Shiels was yer man from that club in the North East of England. And he's already left for Glenavon.
Was it not Ciaran Quinn who's gone to Glenavon?Quote:

Just found out tonite that you have signed a very talented young man from us. Ger O'Callaghan, young Clones lad with alot of skill. Played for the Republic of Ireland Schoolboys recently and was central part of our U21's and made quite a few first team appearances last year but less so this year due to Leaving Cert committments.
Gutted he has left us but delighted for him and hope his studies go well too.
Good luck Ger!
I presume he is better than Ciaran Quinn?
Why do you have it in for Quinn so much? I hardly remember him ever figuring. I only remember him giving a decent display against Kilkenny in preseason.:confused:Quote:

This Clones youngster won many fans last season for his tenacity and determination coupled with his excellent skills. The Largy College student has brought his footballing skills to the International scene when he played with the Republic of Ireland Schools. Has arouised interest from scouts of Scottish Club Falkirk.
Ger was a feature of the first team but had to take a back seat a little due to his exam presssure and then the team started to get better results in the last few weeks so he hadnt been included as am sure Mr Cooke saw no reason to change things.
