There's a good free ebook available on Tim O'Reilly's site by a load of advocates including Linus Torvalds (the guy behind Linux), Richard Stallman (the original free software advocate and still a really important figure), Robert Young (founder of Red Hat, one of the biggest Open source based companies), etc. They discuss it as a philosophy, business plan, design method, etc. You could read the whole thing in a day or two, and you'd get a good flavour of the 'movement'.
Have a design project due, doing a tourism brochure for Ireland. Thesis for me degree is due next month, im doing it on the effects of the media on career paths of footballers (its been pretty easy and gettin real good feedback!) im interviewing Jason Lee (pineapple head) next week!
