I think they're too good to go down too. They're no worse than a lot of teams above them. Yesterday was the big performance we've been waiting for from McCarthy. Levein obviously likes what he sees which is very encouraging for Ireland.

There's a lot of good young centre halves coming through right now, O'Brien and Dunne aren't 26 yet. Hopefully they've a good 6-8 years left at senior international level. McShane and McCarthy are playing well. Dont forget Breen and Doherty (playing regularly at centre half for Norwich) are still options
Don't worry, I hadn't! That's why I'm so glad to see McCarthy play well :)Quote:

hopefully he will keep it between the ditches and fulfill the potential.
i was home over Christmas and missed norwich's visit but Mrs CraftyToePoke told me Doherty was dodgy, that he looked clumsy all game.Quote:

But this debate is for elsewhere - not in the Ireland Forum.Quote:

McCarthy played very well and is surely one for the future. He is composed, strong ,fast and his positional since appears on song too.

My mate in work is a season ticket holder but he's going to Twickenham that afternoon for the 6 Nations so I'm taking his ticket.
One of those Irish Millwall players is bound to score - the Irish always score against Wednesday (Holland got his first ever FA Cup goal last weekend). Corr won't be playing. Wednesday have just signed two more strikers so he's back down the pecking order. Eagles has gone on loan to someone else from Man U so Partridge should get a few more games. Coughlan and Whelan should also be playing. You'll like Coughlan. He's a real "put my head where it hurts" type of centre half.
