I've plundered the past again to find an interesting musical thread.
Moved house recently and had a lot of painting to do - which offerd me the opportunity to listen to a rake of old albums. Among which I recently listened to:
The La's - The La's - still a great album. Liberty Ship, There She Goes and Looking Glass are timeless.
Supergrass - Life on Other Planets - Not for everyone, but I think its quite an underrated album. Really enjoyed re-vistiting this record. Grace is a great tune.
Neil Young - After the Goldrush An undoubted classic but I genuinely hadn't listened to it for about 5 years.
The Pixies - Bossanova -
Tension: I only Like You When I'm Drunk. Recently transferred it from tape to mp3. Forgot how good it was.
Nevermind - quality from start to finish :)
Im gonna get slated for this....
But i put on K by Kula Shaker the other day...maybe there is some kinda hippy in me but it still appeals after all these years.:D
The The ,Infected and The beaten generation.Sounds a bit tinny but still some great tracks.Heartland and Armageddon Days reminded me of the politically angry teenager I was in the 80s.Also Modern Times by Latin Quarter.Good band, came out with a lot of interesting stuff.
Havent heard this in a while..
Smashing Pumpkins - Gish
Still probably their best.
What's The Story (Morning Glory)?
Definition of music.
Can't hear your pub-rock muck at all ...am currently deafening myself with Half Man Half Biscuits' "McIntyre Treadmore and Davitt", "This Leaden Pall" and "ACD" (the latter is basically Back Again In The DHSS with extra tracks) all of which arrived in the post yesterday.
Proper :ball:
