i know people were joking / serious about the rovers league win in 2020 being a # moment but to be fair that league if it had gone on longer we would just have won by more.....this yera if we win it deserves an astrix.
Worst league ever by a bunch of chokers ever including us
Possibly the stupidest thing that's ever been written on this forum, and that's saying something!!
Whoever does go on to win the league will have done it the hard way,in an ultra competitive league.
Rovers have clearly come back to the pack a bit ,and as neither shels nor derry have won the league in a generation they are rightly indulging in a bit of squeaky bum behaviour.
The benefits of winning the league mean the journey to win it will be quickly forgotten by the eventual winners.
I feel they should be made chase the trophy around the pitch and each time they come close it pull away
Exciting yes , great finish yes, but it’s five teams stumbling towards a conclusion.
The most exciting and boring league in years. Only in the LOI.
Doesn't look like any of these ***** bar Pats want to win the league this year, could come down to goal difference
If rovers win there last win 3 games we win the league imo. big ask considerint hen form bit hey ho
My mistake then, I thought you were serious.
I've never before seen a team like derry look to rely so much on trying to get penos every time the ball is in the opposition box-Then again seeing mullan missing an absolute open goal I shouldn't be that surprised.
Must be a lot of pressure on derry to beat Sligo on Monday,4 points from the 2 games wouldn't be the worst return in fairness and may see them fall over the finish line.
Harps just about still alive but a big outside chance of making the playoffs, being unable to hold on to leads look likes our downfall...
Unreal cross for Bohs goal this evening,Derry bottling it again aswell .......
My moneys on rovers for the league, purely because they’ve done it before
Not always the case, 94/95 was a very average season being nice about it, 4 or 5 eeked out bare minimum wins in the run in was enough to get us on the coat tails going in to last day as least likely of 3 possible winners. We came out of the pack with a mini run of title form, Derry choked, Shels baulked and the most unexpected Dundalk league title is the most memorable for me cause the journey was mostly forgetable cold nights and bad crowds but then the unremarkable became unforgetable. There are definite similarities with this years ttle chase albeit the (maybe remote?) possibility of the top 6 on 50-54 points with 3 games to go would be memorable be it due to collective rubbish standards or ridiculous competitiveness. Its mad that only a point seperates Galway with a GD of 5 and Derry 17. Champions will have lost at least 7 games (Dundalk 8 I think in 94/95). Sligo could in theory win the league with -3 or -4 GD(?), Derry should finish highest GD just above +20, 2018 was +65 - keepers clangers season and all! The impact that the bottom 2 clubs could have on the title destination is an interesting quirk too (like a relegated Athlone) though Drogheda are a form side with St Pats.
Yeah normally nobody really looks beyond the final table after the dust settles but this one I think is or will be different. If, big if, Drogheda do overtake Bohs I think Bohs are more at risk in the play-off than Drogheda, obvious momentum aside, I think Drogheda can play and be a battering ram as needed.
I can only hope this mad season wont also be marked as 1903 Dundalk FC's last!:(
I cant imagine how frustrating it must be for Derry fans watching Higgins bottle it time and time again.
An entertaining draw at the Markets Field last night but it should have been all 3 points for Treaty as Yoyo Mahdy's free kick was well over the line.
