Not always the case, 94/95 was a very average season being nice about it, 4 or 5 eeked out bare minimum wins in the run in was enough to get us on the coat tails going in to last day as least likely of 3 possible winners. We came out of the pack with a mini run of title form, Derry choked, Shels baulked and the most unexpected Dundalk league title is the most memorable for me cause the journey was mostly forgetable cold nights and bad crowds but then the unremarkable became unforgetable. Sligo could in theory win the league with -3 or -4 GD(?), Derry should finish highest GD just above +20, 2018 was +65 - keepers clangers season and all! The impact that the bottom 2 clubs could have on the title destination is an interesting quirk too (like a relegated Athlone) though Drogheda are a form side with St Pats.Quote:
