Let's see Troy.Quote:

You work for company A.
The manager is a pr*ck.
The company is going nowhere under this pr*ck.
Company B offers you more money to work for them. With them you get to work in Europe. You get bonuses for winning things. All round you do a lot better for yourself.
But you Troy will stay with company A because to go to the money would mean you are a Judas.
No offence Troy, but you should change your name to lang*r!! ......................:p
The thing that really ****es me off about it is that he went for financial reasons and not footballing reasons. $hel$ are not that much bigger or better than city, its not like hes going to be playing in the champions league (i.e. at least the group stages) because $hel$ havent a hope in hell of getting through 3 qualifying rounds. He left for the smell of the hard cash, he has no loyalty!
So I guess if Billy Woods is signed we will have to put up with shouts of Judas every time he plays....after all did he not leave City and show his disloyalty?
I acknowledge COLM and Troy that your opinion is as good as mine and it's good to get differing opinions, but I cannot help but see this Judas stuff as childish and silly. Of course COLM you will probably tell me about love of club and that stuff, but you criticise Ollie for leaving for money reasons and not football reasons. I would think moving from a club with Gunther as the manager to a club that has won the league and are playing at a better level than City is a pretty good football reason. How do you know it was only for money. How do you know what went on in those negotiations ? Have your opinion, but I have to say I think it is negative and pointless.....:(
Because he said that if the money was right that he would stay. There was never any mention of football and for all he knows Gunther could (& hopefully he will) be the new manager. Even if we do have a prik as a manager, at least we have one and not just a list of who we would like to have (although some of us have them as well ;) )Quote:

If that were the case, Id support Microsoft on the NASDAQ instead of CCFC in the eL!Quote:

To be honest, we all know that after all the money that Ollie makes out of his 3 year Shels contract, he will be back selling office supplies after it.
Billy went to Tranmere, Ollie went to Shels. For me there is quite a difference. :mad:Quote:

Go to an another country to play full time football = Not a JudasQuote:

Stay in the eL,
(which we are all supposed to support and in which we want to see great players and good football),
but move to another club and play fulltime football = JUDAS
Strange ways of looking at things, Troy......
Billy was sold by the club.
Ollie left the club.
Its like the way Figo left Barca. He paid the get out clause in his contract to move to his clubs most bitter rivals. He a judas just like Sol Campbell off to the Gooners at the end of last season in england.
So if you leave the club, even though they know when your contract is ending, you are the Judas, and it's got nothing to do with the stupidity of the club management , who did not sell you if you were not going to stay?Quote:

By this reckoning at least 50% of the players we watch are Judases.
It must be absolute misery for a lot of you watching eL, cos you are sorrounded by Judases, money grabbers, etc. etc.....:(
The deal for Figo was done over his head, and he had very little say in it. All he did was to agree to something he thought could never happen.
And who in their right mind gives a flying f*ck about Sol f*cking Campbell?
Im (in a way) glad that he stayed in the eL, but Id rather that he stayed with us. Anyway, he didnt just move to another club, he moved to $hels  I hate them more than Rambelers :mad:Quote:

We will have to agree to disagree, Troy.Quote:

But hate Ramblers?
That's a job for Pity and Derision...........;)
Figo made his bed and now he's had to lie in it. It was totally his decision and he did it for money. The deal was that the Real presidential candidate-Perez- told all season ticket-holders -i.e. voters- that he'd bring figo to real and if not he'd pay their tickets personally for a year. Figo wanted a better deal (MONEY!) from Barca and signed a contract with Perez saying if he won, Figo would go to real. Figo's intenion was to force Barca to offer him a new contract, he didn't expect Perez to win. When Perez DID win, Figo was paid the value of his get out clause by real and he then paid Barca to buy it out. He did what he did purely for money, and even though I'm a Real fan, I can't respect the guy for it. Ollie's case is different, his contract is up, he chose to leave and, gutted as I am, I don't blame him.Quote:

Eanna, I bow to your superior knowledge...
The next time your having a chat with Luis, get his autograph for me.....:p
Anyway, to get back on topic, I just cannot see Ollie as a Judas. I wish him the best for himself, but hope his time at $hels will be a barren, trophyless, relegation dogfight which they lose in his first season, and banishment to the wildernesses of Athlone, Sligo and Limerick for the following seasons.....:D
sounds like some sort of gypsy curse :DQuote:

Ollie's been a great player for City, but just think about the amount of games he wasn't with the match when on the pitch and it makes his decision easier to bare. Take the Shels game at the Cross for example. Excellant in the first half, invisible in the second.
