I don't think anyone comes out of this too great. Pauw should have just said "good luck, I enjoyed my time" and move on.
Likewise, the players shouldn't have risen to any questions, wished her well, and said "we're focused on the future now and thank Vera for her contribution".
This schoolyard nonsense doesn't help anyone. There's absolutely no doubt, no smoke without fire, and there are people who'll have been properly p!ssed off with Pauw, but at the end of the day, she's a coach, not out to make friends. She probably could have handled some things better herself during her tenure too, the Tyler Toland situation is one obvious one, but neither side came out of that too well either, to be honest.
Dragging the arse out of it now, however, is of no help to anyone, and not least Gleeson and her coaching staff trying to prepare for the game this week.
