Last I heard Sadlier was working in the youth academy in Millwall
A bit like Mark Kennedy scoring a great goal to knock Arsenal out of the FA Cup and then Liverpool sign him............the rest is history with regard to his club career. That said he played well for Ireland on many occasions ( e.g. his goal against Yugoslavia ) and I remember when Austria beat us 3-1 home and away in Charlton's last campaign and Kennedy was the ONLY player in the away game who took players on when we had the ball.Quote:

He works for Setanta too
what does mark kennedy do now? give me the rundown
Kennedy is still playing at a decent level and has managed to make a carreer for himself, but agree he is a bit of a waster. You only have to look at home here in Ireland, players like Tony Sheridan and Paul Byrne. Both played at high levels, then decended to EL, and now both are playing in the Leinster Senior League.
chek this, a great read! http://www.bbc.co.uk/birmingham/spor...ng-point.shtml
Richard Sadlier is an player agent now as far as I know. TBH he didn't impress hugely when I saw him but he never got an extended run.
Dominic Foley had a good goal ratio but now he's back playing for Bohs and not really getting any goals ( the odd one here or there I think ).
I remember when Paul Byrne was the great hope for Ireland and Celtic. Scored a cracker against Rangers and it all looked good from there.....
I went to the New Den one Saturday to watch Millwall (well Sadlier, Reid & Ryan) play S****horpe in a FA Cup match. What a grim place. Sadlier scored two, both pretty classy headers. He was tall and gangly but had a nice touch and took both goals really well. The crowd liked him too: "Oooh AaaH Richard Sadlier...".Quote:

I used to love when the guys on Gillette Soccer Saturday thought he was French!
I think he did - Gustavo or anyone from the Northwest care to verify?Quote:

To be fair, if I was transferred to Liverpool as a teenager and making pots of money and all my teammates were constantly on the tear, I'm sure I'd be with them, maybe I shouldn't judge so harshly. Then again, he had so many chances to resurrect things and he didn't.
I was at that match and yes, Austin was a one hit wonder and was substituted during the game which we won (2-0 over Denmark), Team below:Quote:
