I might be remembering this wrong so feel free to correct me. When Jack Charlton left we were left with a very old team with a lot of retirements when Mick took charge. Didn't he pick young players with little club experience at the time and let them use International football to help them develop. I'm thinking about Shay Given in particular.
I just feel that we should look to do something similar now. Get the likes of Liam Kelly, Declan Rice etc into the team and build from scratch playing a little bit of football and not bombard players with the idea that they are all crap so have to hoof as much as possible.
