Barney looks like he's gonig to walk it this year. Hankey is the only one who can get near him I'd say but even he won't beat him.

Barney proved yet again he is best in the BDO world of darts, he is now one title behind Bristows 5 world crowns, I hope he can put up a good show against Taylor this time around.
The big difference in the two competitions is that there was only one interval last night, while on SKY they break after most sets for advertisements, it’s a better system as both players are up their on stage and cant leave until the interval.
Does Barneveld get to play the guy from the Sky version of the WC?
Has there been games between them before, and if so, what were the results?
Does noone else think that Darts is one of the weirdest sports in the world. I mean, you do the same thing over and over and over again, ie throw three darts at a board. Conditions never change, it is always going to be the same type of board and you are always going to be the same distance from the board. The only taxing thing is being able to add and subtract properly.
Not a great "sport" if you ask me
Taylor hammered Barney a few years back. I think that's the only time it's happened. Fordham pulled out of last year's because of ill health.Quote:

Darts is great for the drama, I think. Watching some lad trying to hit a half-a-square-inch segment from seven-odd foot away knowing that if he misses, the other lad will be in for a chance to win the game...watching him bottle double 8, then double 4 only to get double 2 is brilliant. And as someone who takes about 20 minutes to finish a game of "Round the clock", it's amazing just how good the top players are! You appreciate a game so much more once you realise how rubbish you are at it!
I don't think anyone really claims that darts is a sport. But (in Ireland, anyway), sports get Government funding whereas games don't, which is why chess players, for example, want chess recognised as a sport when it's even less physical than darts...
darts players wives on sky last night:
scarey stuff
what about phil "the power" taylor's house,it has tacky ornaments from top to tail and of course a a dart board in the middle of the wall in the living room of his house :D
