Now the captain is Kenny, and I think is right that he could retain tha armband, although if I think about Ireland, I think about Roy as skipper.
But in the end, I like very much Kenny for his way to stay on the pitch, and how he can drive our back line.
And I think that Roy, with or without an armband on his left arm, will be always a leader for us.
So Kenny as our skipper, Roy as leader in the mid. Probably that's one of the reasons of our good start in the qualif group.
:)
Now all we need is somebody to lead from the front.
Cunningham has been an excellent captain and has never let his country down. Keane is a very good player, WAS a very good captain and does lead on the pitch. Keane doesn't need to armband and he doesn't deserve it either
It seems to be working with Keith Cunningham wearing the armband. A player of Keano's ability, passion and experience can only raise the level of the game, and the way he drives the lads on is still a joy to see.
He doesn't need to be captain to do that, and Keiran Cunningham seems to be doing the job well enough. Maybe. Unlike chancers like Zak "Who the f**k??"" Knight, Keano's desperate to see Ireland win, as is Karl Cunningham, I'm sure.
This thread is bullsh!t. Whether or not Roy Keane is captain, his contribution will be no different, same goes for Cunningham. Who wears the armband is meaningless.
Agreed. And if Keane was to be given the captaincy again all it would serve to do is to create a media frenzy which would not be good for the team as a whole. What's done is done so leave it well alone!Quote:
