That's another thing. You do know the Irish League is up north
4tothefloor keep the faith. If longford with no tradition or history can build a 5,600 seater ground and win a few trophies no reason why Limerick cant repeat the success they had in the early 80s. A club with history, tradition and population like Limericks should be thriving. Shame JP McManus wont contribute to your cause.

Been out in Monaco the last few days so I'm itching to get back in the flow on my favourite rumble site. Sylvo, re Duffer, wasn't Jerry Kilburn (a well known Chelsea 'fan') telling you some yarn about doing a Jackie Chan on five Chelsea fans who started singing 'No sur-rendah...' to Damian as he was leaving Stamford Bridge. Also, I do also think that private PMs should not be aired in public other than extreme situations. These are confidential IMO and should stay so.
BTW, kinda namedropping here but who did I bump into and had a conversation with last night at the Louis II stadium: Ken Bates. Claims the name Jerry Kilburn rings a bell too. Nice bloke - and his wife too - I thought.

i have it on good information that JP McManus did give money to the club before but he saw it being p1ssed up against the wall and swore never again
A few points.....
1) Personally I find it hard to understand Chelsea having much of an Irish support given their history and connections. Don't give a fcuk about the Rangers connections, more concerned with the C18/NF/BNP angle. But then again the BNP are trying to get a foothold here. During the 80's and much of the 90's it was widespread at Chelsea (not just a few w@nkers), but each to their own.
2) I don't see it as being mutually exclusive to support an eL club and an British club. The miltant wing of the eL support does so, and unfortunately most of the "best fans in the world" seem to as well. I do think all the people who write off the eL as being shít having been to zero matches are tossers though.
3) The majority of the "great" irish sporting public are glory hunting tossers. This can be seen in any sport you care to mention. From Bogball league games compared to the (particularly) latter stages of the Championship, Shels getting 24,000 v Depor compared to their next league game, the national team friendlies (eg Turkey) compared to qualifiers. They're all part timers.
4) wws - :D
spot on macy i go to as many different as possible fro junior soccer to celtic league matches to county championship matches to all ireland qualifiers in both hurling and football yet when the big games come around a lot of time im lucky to get tickets because i dont have any real connections i bring my nephew to limerick fc games and they try and charge for him but i still go to support my local side cos i know they need all the help they can get but they only seem to want to take, i was late for the cork city league cup game this season and showed up at half time and they tried to charge me full whack! I mean come on
