Costner a bit too cheesy to make it a truly great mob epic, but its good.
de niro has signed up for a sequel to the untouchables
Was simply ok....not enough bloodshed for me.Quote:

I like most mentioned but I also like "A Bronx Tale" (DeNiro stars), "Carlitos Way" (Pacino, Penn) and "Mean Streets"(DeNiro, Keitel).
This is a thread about gangsters. How come there arent more people from Limerick contributing?
Always going to be one.....what can you do? I started this reply with the intention of getting into a slagging match with you but can't be bothered.Quote:

I KNOW
One of the best moments has to be in goodfellas when Joe Pesci shoots Christopher from the sopranos in the foot...pure class. That and the ear slicing in Reservoir Dogs
Does the film 'Veronica Guerin' count as a gangster movie??? I thought it was a very poor movie to be honest, but that's because I had already seen 'When the sky falls' which is the same story but an excellent film.
I suppose you'd have to include all the Martin Cahill films too, 'The General','Ordinary Decent Criminal' etc 'The General' was a decent movie allright.
Goodfellas
Godfather II
The Long Good Friday
All this talk of mafia movies makes me hungry.
Bugsy Mallone !! :D
speaking about robert de niro
he is to star in a film on the life of doctor harold shipman.
the film has a working title of: THE OLD DEAR HUNTER :D
oh god......please !!
My choices would be:
Murder Inc. : It's an old black & white film, introduced the term "hit" into common usage, excellent stuff.
The Public Enemy, Angels with Dirty Faces, White Heat: All Jimmy Cagney classics.
Once upon a time in America.
Hoffa.
one 70's movie i have forgotten was the sting, with robert redford and paul newman, a complete movie masterpiece.
so they were dancing in amazing fashion??.........think u mean cinematography :)Quote:

I stand corrected.
You would have thought though that a film called "Dances with Wolves" would have good choreography as well :) .Quote:
