The fact that Keane was irate at the leaking of their nice little arrangement suggests that he knows that, far from being 'delighted' many people would be annoyed by a player who would (whether rightly or not) be perceived as cherry picking the games that suited him. In fact, I don't know anyone who was 'delighted' that Keane missed a game, his fans were surely concerned about his injury and others of us were sceptical as to the extent of any injury.
