Athlone Away

Have to agree with Gary, it would have been an injustice for us to have gotten anything out of the game ... but I'd have taken it ;)

Credit to the travelling support, good bit of noise and a bit of craic. Especially liked the "The Athlone Sub, Is Very Old" chant when Johnny T was walking along the sideline :D

There were quite a few funny chants.

Thankfully my 6 yearold keeps singing "Sha la la la la Limerick" to the tune of Amarillo rather than

"We've got a 6 foot Willie"
"We've got a rock hard Willie"
"Willie's in the box"

I'm sure it was very different in the Dick O'Connor era.

They were always going to be tough to break down with the defence they have this year not letting in many at all.

Was tat their first loss at home this season?

Very good result for us so delighted with the win think we definitely deserved it.
