According to BBC TV text just now, ourselves, Jamaica and Nigeria will be involved in a triangular tournament to be played at The Valley, home of Charlton Athletic, from Saturday 29 May to Wednesday 2 June.Quote:

You think the withdrawals from this match were bad, wait until you see the drop outs in the squad for the Nigeria/Jamaica games.

This is probably the best chance we're going to have of winning something at senior level for the foreseeable future.
Considering how far away Nigeria and Jamaica are, it will be like a home tournament for us (even if there are a lot of Nigerian/Jamaican ex-pats in London, we should still easily outnumber them).
I don't think we've won anything since like 1986 or something so we should really give this thing a good go.

It is the Unity cup-a cup for the three biggest ethnic minoritys in England-i.e Ireland, Nigera and Jamiaca and aims to unite them through football-fair play to them :)
should be a good tournie as club season has finished and no Euro 2004 so should get the good players out, I'm certainly going for it as my first ever Ireland match. Tickets available from ticket master 9.00 tuesday morning, (have a look in 'Tickets' in the 'For Fans' forum).
I don't see the tickets on Ticketmaster, any ideas? I'm back in Ireland for my sister's 21st on the Saturday so I'll have to miss the Nigeria game. I'll still catch the Jamaica game and the Valley is only down the road from where I live.Quote:
