Plus it was a completely non-controversial game that went exactly as how everyone thought it would, and has no repercussion on any European places/rest of the season. Not too much more to say about it than congratulations to both sides.

The league cup final was on?
You had me until the last sentence...
So when's the final on?
Yep, but he didn't win it, and he doesn't care about it. Like fans of the other 20 clubs not involved in the final
All joking aside the only time the League cup is ever realisticly given creedence is as a part of a treble.
Sure, its nice to win, just as the Leinster senior or Presidents cup was in bygone days.A day out and some silverware-Who'd turn their nose up at that?
.........Well,most I suppose if it meant winning the league,FAI cup and/or setanta cup,in that order.
Listened to it today and thought it was top notch:)
If you thought your cup win didnt recieve enough attention on this show I hope you wern't listening to Newstalks token LOI review ladt night(wednesday).
All the talk was about LOI being a stepping stone with virtually no recap or preview of this or last weeks action.
Although it'd be worth looking up on the Newstalk archive just to hear roddy being handed his arse by Dan Mc D:D
This "banter" between the 2 boys I'm sure provided enough of a "poor man's dunphy" effort to keep the non-loi supporting listeners from turning over-which of course is the point of Roddy's full time gig with newstalk among other media outlets!
I'm sure if we had realistic hopes of winning the league it might be different but it was fairly obvious early on this seaosn that our small squad simply wasn't big or good enough for a league challenge. We can, however, beat any team on our day so the cup is/was a realistic ambition.
I'm not speaking for everyone but a fair amount of people I go to games with have an FAI Cup win as their main ambition every year too. just to tick the box, as it were.
Yeah there is a few who would rather win the cup than the league, just speaking for myself i have seen us win 4 league titles in my time supporting Pats but unfortunatley have had the misery of seeing us losing 3 cup finals (one of which was on my birthday, **** you Shels) so the cup first for the moment but if we do ever win it the league then would become the most important trophy for me
Podcast coming back does anyone know?
The radio show is anyway so I'd assume they'll keep podcasting it.
