What ?
I love it when my game clash with other events - rubby matchs. all-irelands, popes visits etc. I know that lads who don't take the soccer game that seriously will be at a disadvantage, because they'll either be drinking beforehand or miss the game altogether. The lads that take their soccer seriously and mind themselves will then win every time. :ball:
Are you playing to win, or are you only playing? :ball:
There is nothing wrong with following two sports or however many you want. Both sports are on at different times, so why should one be changed ?
I assume its guys want to go on the booze. Well, that's not a problem, you just have to play your soccer match on Sunday!
I am not normally a friend of the establishment or policymakers, however in this case I believe that with the season coming to a close that if you reverse the decision on this issue every other two bit excuse from other codes will be cited for consideration.
The easiest option ,therefore, is to ' drive on' and Limerick football will be no worse off.
A bit of common sense was done with fixtures as our game has been moved from Sunday to Friday evening.
yes most guys would like to have a few drinks and enjoy the night without having a match to worry about the next morning. this is junior soccer like, it's not like we play in the english premiership!!! we should be entitled to the weekend off for special occasions like the heineken cup semi-final, we stay in 15-16 saturday nights during the season and don't drink so the least they could do is give us a free weekend!!!
LDMC will not have to worry about deferring any future league games this season!!
What I cant understand is why you cannot play on Sunday morning after a rugby match. I assume matches are often scheduled for sunday morning. We all enjoy a beer but if your life is affected to such an extent that you cannot play soccer because of your drinking habits questions need to be asked. Alterntaivelly should sport be organised around people's drinking or should your drinking be organised around your sport?
The LDMC have screwed us in recent weeks...see my posts in the 1A thread but that said i see no reason why games should be called off after a rugby match...i play soccer i have no interest in peanut hugging and im aware some people do but i have to play a match the morning after a world cup qualifier which to me is much much much more important, but no one kicks up a fuss over this...why?
How did ye all get on with your sore heads sunday morning? :D
Didnt have a sore head at all just wrecked tired from watching Ricky hatton getting his ass kicked, This was not about drink you making it out that people have drinking problems maybe some do i dont know, It was a Bank holiday weekend people would want to head away for the long weekend and would want to go to Dublin to watch the match, This is not about a Rugby thing, Its about a Limerick thing and in fairness to Munster Rugby its awful lot better to watch than watching Limerick 37.
