where did they come from ......this may come as a suprise to you james D but the total membership of cobh ramblers is actually one hundred and fifty MEMBERS and not thirty one.... the time has come for the tail to stop wagging the dog....

I think that was a misprint bella, the echo said their new daily figure is €750,000, down €210,000 on their figure of the 21st December last. - must be a massive drop in inflation!
But dont hold your breath, tomorrows figure might be 3 or 4 million. They will probably meet in a phone booth tonight to decide on that!
Here is hoping this has now been put to bed and football can move up the priority list!!
From the News at One. Look closely and you'll spot me:cool:..................

Briliant news lads, happy days....
Well I just hope that the FAI will now accept the proposal, otherwise all of our bickering and fighting will have been in vain.
I know ye all think I am against any proposal, but the fact of the matter is, that if people didn't care about the club, they wouldn't have gotten as passionate about it nor would they have come out in numbers to support the proposal.
The reason I have been ranting about the Chairman and Committee is that I am most concerned as to how the money (if we get it) will be handled. This is the last chance saloon and there can be no more excuses for mistakes.
My heart is with the claret and blue, and while we are all entitled to our opinions regardless how we disagree with eachother, it's saving and retaining Cobh Ramblers FC that counts.
I humbly accept the result of the vote and I just hope now for the best outcome possible. And if I have offended anyone in recent times, I apologise.
I accept the spirit of your last line there Jamesd, but I find it incredible that you say you hope the FAI now gives us the money after you and the focr's did and continues through solicitors to do all in their power to stop the FAI from doing just that.
Yesterday you told all of us "Ye" to go and swim. Today Ye has becom "US"
Just how many personalities do you have Jamesd?
If you are truly genuine Jamesd, lets see you write here for the true sake of the club, that your fromer collegues Focr's should cease their bitter and undemocratic activities and encourage them to send just one last letter to the FAI and that is in support of the clubs proposal!
If you cant manage that Jamesd -then you should take a swim as we are not biting!
Well Red, as for taking a swim, no thanks, the water is too cold...lol
As I have stated many time, I am not now nor have I ever been a member of Focrs and I am in no way responsible for their actions. All I have ever done is express my view and that is why I have accepted the result of the vote on Sunday as I had accepted the vote in December.
And yes, I do hope that FAI gives the club the money but as stated already, there can be no more excuses for mistakes and everyone involved must be accountable for their actions.
But you never said Jamesd that the Focr's should be responsible for THEIR actions and MISTAKES. You never said if and why you joined the boycott -if you supported the financial controls? I suspect you werent there (joined boycott) because if you were there and if you suported the new controls, you would know that there is no room for further mistakes on the clubs side!
Is it true the focrs are getting an injunction over last wk vote because it was voted already
How many egms were called by them last year to get rid of the commette and chairman when the vote went against them
Its been hinted that they might, but even they know they havnt a leg (crows nest to stand in) and it will be a very very costly and futile exercise. Or maybe they just have very ironic sense of humours.
The club now has filled all the FAI's criteria for the application, so its now over to that body.
Contrary to what the focr's were trying to spout in the press last week, I think they, just like everyone else in Cobh knows now that if the FAI turns us down, it will be down to them, and Cobh wont be a very nice place to be if you are a focr!
Red, firstly you say that the Club has filled all the criteria for the FAI proposal and yet you choose to blame others when no decision has been made.
Then you say that if turned down, Cobh won't be a very nice place to live in.
Red, that is very threatening talk and really not appropriate at all. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if you don't agree with them, but no matter how much passion people argue with and no matter how right or wrong they are, making such threats only makes a mockery of all members who have supported to Cobh Ramblers since its foundation.
If been a member of Cobh Ramblers means that I have to be part of some side, then I regret to say I will never support the Club again. I did not join Cobh Ramblers to be receiving threats.
Jamesd -try to wriggle out of this what ever way you like but there are some simple facts here that even you cant deny.
Yes the club under normal circumstances has met all the criteria But
1. The Focr's very delibrately made this and their war against the Chairman a very public matter. (not good for deal -solicitors to FAI etc)
2. Although it took some time to realise, the vast majority of the members, as expressed last sunday, now know they had been hoodwinked about a so-called alternative plan.
3.. They now feel they were duped and that the Focr plan all along was to block the clubs FAI licence, undermine the management committee and to take control themselves.
4. All the above has naturally translated into anger by the membership and if the FAI now rejects our proposal, yes the members already knows who to blame.
5. The fact that the last line in last weeks focr statement said that Barry Walsh would be to blame if there was no League of Ireland Lincence in Cobh this year, shows how much that body is preparing to cover their behinds.
So Jamesd, the fact that all you can come up with now by way of an explaination for the Focr's actions and what you have written here recently is a screech that you are being threatened, leaves me to believe that you are a bigger **** than I thought.
You again yesterday attempted to apologise, change direction and move on. But as soon as you were asked a few hard questions, you reverted back to form again, FOCR Form!
83 drinking buddies, see that is the problem with the FOCRs, the 30 of YE think ye own the club, it was ours and we want it back, bull****,the rest of us are treated with this disrespect, your saying the 81 people who voted for the FAI proposal are Barrys drinking buddies, thtas why ye were overwhelmingly voted against, its this exclusivity(thanks neighbour:D) and disrespect by naming yourselves as Friends leaving the rest of the cobh and the country thinkning that the rest of us are enemies, this was your biggest downfall selecting the group who knows if ye had askes all members did they want in ye might have raised €700,000. Anyway im moving on now because now is the time to push together and drive the club on as best we can and do everything to make the club a successful club in 3-4 years time. Next year we have to try get more members, make sure the financial controls as adhered to and we get as much money in as possible unfortunatly the football is the least of our worries although a win over waterford and limerick is vital!!!
Were waiting on an announcement which we hear is due out today, prob in the locla newsletter.
I too was told to expect another proclamation in the great Island news today.
God only knows what they will come up with this time - probably - "81 dictators must go"!
it never materialised, maybe they have gone away, far far away.Club is all about numbers if you think about it.
St Colmans Park 3
42 people who dont understand controls
Crowes Nest 6
