quite the opposite. i've missed very few home games for 12 years. Admittedly I don't travel but I do my best and have sat at many games despite some of them been quite ropey.(weather or quality)
my point(badly explained) was many fans will go anyway but they are rarely full. We go to support the team not becase we think ireland v greece is going to be a cracker.
the journos complaining about poor attendances have either short memories or weren't there (only started watching football when they started covering it) or are thick.
so to answer your question - the real fans are here - which is why we were all at the rubbish games but we'll continue to go and be glad we went for the most part.
Well they never seem to answer the questions that they pose. Fanning has a hard on for A. Reid yet doesn't address the fact that he is barely getting his game for a middling Prem team or that he is not a ball-winner.
I still remember the clamour on these very boards and in the press for Kerr to throw Miller in against the Swiss. Funny.
In fairness, I think I was one of the people demanding that Kerr play him so I'm not trying to say I knew any better. I like Andy Reid as a player but I can see why Trapp doesn't play him. People like Fanning just need to write something, anything that's controversial.
I think that that was merited at the time because Miller appeared to be a prodigy when he first started playing for Celtic. I can vaguely recall his fantastic play in the Champions league and UEfa Cup (on the wing if I remember correctly) for them and after all Sir Alex came in for him:eek:. That move imo is one of the reasons he has never fulfilled his undoubted potential.
