Its amazing how poorly the Scottish teams perform in Europe outside of old firm considering the budgets they have. Tactics must be archaic or whats the reason?

Hibs got one back in injury time; that should make it a lot easier in the second leg. Andorra in pre-season too so can't even use that as an excuse. Shocking result
Rovers team is in - Manny's back but no Byrne, Farrugia or Gaffney as expected. Finn on the bench; Kenny starts up front.
It doesn't look a great team, but we shall see I guess
Rovers showing some form so far. Now that there is no choice but to go for it, no losing the champions parachutes, they seem to be just less strained, more positive.
Alan Mannus deary me…
Oh dear Alan! Well it is that catastrophe LoI moment out of the way...
Ah a keeper fluffing his lines doesnt really take away from the fact that Rovers have already played more in the 1st 20min that they have for a good while in full games. But of course results are what matter not perormances. There's goals in this for Rovers if they keep at it.
Yeah, I know. It was your George Hamilton timing as much as anything!
But goals change games too, and it may be that bright start is long forgotten by full-time
Ferencvaros in full control now anyway,Rovers struggling to get anything going…
I take it all back....same old Rovers in Europe!
Rovers be lucky not to get a hiding now…
This has been a pretty ugly first half for Rovers.
Tie over after half an hour. ffs!
It's simply not good enough. There is no plan at all. Yes, the opponent is much stronger, we can accept that. But Rovers are making it so easy for them. And Mannus should be saving both those goals to be honest, way past his best too.
be lucky to get this back to Tallaght with even a "theoretical" chance.
If we win the league this year (which i doubt) the "chalengers" should be asking questions of themseves.
Nothing positive after the first 10 minutes,Poom,O'Neill and Towell have been particularly useless in midfield ,cant string 2 passes together...
I don't think there's a stand out answer to explain why Hibs a full time pro club could not get a result against an Andorra club. The Andorra champs Tre Penne (Three Nil?) were beaten 3 nil in the prelims to a team who were later beaten 5 nil by Breidablik, then today they lost 3 nil (again) at home to a Latvian team.
For fupp sake!
This could get ugly
1 minute of the second half to concede, diabolical…
Tre Penne are Sammarinese. San Marino football has always been the real dregs of Europe (that 2-1 aside...); I don't know why they're so much worse than the other minnows. Never even scored a Nations League goal.
But that doesn't change the mystery of Hibs' result tonight, and other bad results (like Motherwell losing home and away v Sligo, or Hearts going out to Birkirkara)
Im sure the stadium in Hungary has a lot more people than the 1st half. Locals must have stayed at home after previous round results but saw Ferencvaros 2up so decided to pop round - didnt think there be worse bandwagonrs than the Irish sports fan!
Dundalk losing as well now
This is an unremittingly bad Euro campaign
Just as well Rovers avoided the Faroese crowd
1-1 now
Jaysis Kavanagh had a good 7 or 8 yards on the other lad and he just blew him away,4 nil ,tie done and dusted…..
Dudelange - who beat Pat's - losing 2-0 to Gzira in Malta. Even that's depressing
Dundalk 3-1 down now.
**** sake. KA out to emulate local rivals Thor v Bohs
Dundalk really do like to cough up a goal just before HT in Europe, been doing it for years!
Basel 3-1 down at home to Tobol of Kazakhstan, and down to nine men. Winners play Derry or KuPS. Another huge upset there it seems
Can we please close this thread down.......will we get 3k in Tallaght next week...4 nil is depressing , literally zero point in even playing
Derry 1 down after conceding a penalty. Shut it down lads.
Is winning a leg worth some cash?
KA's secret weapon being sprung from on the bench, new signing Jóan Edmundsson a Faroese internat, tall front man with a bit of flair though.
Kavanagh lost his legs years ago. Good player on the ball but physicality and pace wise he should never be on the same pitch as a team the level of Ferencvaros. Yes I’m aware he’s only playing because of injuries to the first choice fullbacks but my point is he’s probably not good enough anymore to even be a backup for a team with the resources of rovers, particularly when you consider both Clarke and Farrugia are incredibly injury prone as it is
