My expectations were probably a bit higher if I'm honest. They've since dropped.

Kerry are rightly and obviously doing what they promised ,a largely local squad .If you look at the Treaty model under Tommy Barrett much the same was promised ,however the majority of the Treaty squads are not from the mid-west.,the present squad announced so far 19/20 has only about 4/5 what can be considered local players.
Waterford confirmed the signing of centre back Giles Philips from Aldershot.
I do and don't agree with you. There's been plenty of players from the region at the club since day one that have either not been good enough, been too good or have stayed. Local players is Important but a balance has to be struck also. I don't think we're bereft of local players either.
The facts are:
Of the 19 signed this season there's 6 in total from Limerick, Tipp and Clare which is probably "the locality".
In the off season they have lost a total of 5 players from those same three counties.
There are 5 Limerick lads spread across Galway, Sligo and Derry as well as Ronan Coughlan, Sean McSweeney (both seemingly unattached) and Sam Warde (emigrated). That's without touching on Clare and Tipp.
The fact of the matter is that if you were to replace like for like (i.e. lose one Limerick player and replace him with another) then Treaty would struggle big time as the standard of junior soccer has never been worse, and the few that are good enough won't commit.
I could go on and talk about how only two people from Limerick have played in the Premier League in the last 20 years and how we haven't had a Senior international since Johnny Walsh, but I'd be here all night :D
We have signed Estonian midfielder Vladislav Kreida on loan from Flora for the season subject to International Clearance. 21 caps but I think some of them might be caps for those domestic only International squads that the Baltic countries select for small competitions between themselves. Interesting that there's a few Estonian players in the league now.
Sorry to inform fans of other sides that we now have the best midfielder in the league.
I would have thought you'd be pleased.
As for being TBMITL, let's just see if that comes to pass eh!
Have pats managed to sign asbestos cotter yet?
Harps sign American left sided player Ryan Flood from Phoenix Rising in USL Championship. Has worked previously with Dave Rogers at Arizona. Two year contract again, subject to international clearance and work permit.
Didn't anticipate my claim about Krieda being taken semi-seriously. Must admit I've not watched much of the Estonian league but what's the point in signing these lads if you can't kid yourself that they're brilliant before you've even seen them play.
He's still cruelly being held hostage apparently.
Rumours of Rovers getting their own Estonian but not sure if it's gone through yet.
In regards to cotter I'd heard he'd been asking around one or two LOI clubs but had no takers- I just assumed he'd sign for pats and that would be that. Maybe wages is an issue?
Hayden Muller signs for Dundalk from Millwall...
Dundalk signed Conor Malley yesterday as well. Intresting signings.
John Mahon released by St Johnston, clubs be sniffing around over here,Sligo being the obvious one….
Sligo, Pats and Bohs were the 3 clubs that were name checked in the below article from Christmas week. Would be a good signing for any of them

True. I suppose like with all gambles it's a case of how much you can afford to lose.
Sligo do indeed re-sign John Mahon.....
That's a great signing for Sligo. Mahon always impressed me. Surprised he wasn't able to step up a level.
Still nothing concrete on our Estonian. It's been a while since we cast that wide a net which always brings huge excitement followed by crushing disappointment.
Dundalk have been very busy this week, 4 new players in, all from UK with the picks appearing to be the central defender from Millwall (Muller) and attacking MF man who was with Rochdale recently (Malley), all 4 on perm deals, seem big lads height wise and all under 22 I think.
Oh and Robbie Benson back for 2023 who is essentially contracted to SOD at this stage in his career!
Still need 2 more, a full back and a winger, then probably that's the squad.
I see one of those Dundalk signings Cameron Elliott has been playing in the Scottish Lowland League for the last 2 seasons with East Fife. Another Pat Cregg masterclass signing on the cards? Although in fairness to Martin Rennie even he was playing 2 tiers above this lad. Bizarre stuff for a club playing European football to be looking at that poor a level for a signing
Sam Bone joined Maidstone United.....
East Kilbride would be one of the better teams in the Lowland league but overall the standard of that league would be lower half of the First Division/intermediate, definite big step up to LOI Premier and European football O'Donnell you would hope must know something about this player
Lot of talk that Pats have signed Jake Mulraney.
Elliott has four goals and five assists in 53 Scottish League One appearances, and one goal in nine Scottish League Two games.
Cracking record this season in Lowland League, but it's like taking a player from junior football here.
Fair gamble for Dundalk but presumably they've had him watched and see something in him.
If he is fit he could well be one to watch this season. Was part of duffers under 15s when duff was at rovers and imo the best prospect we have
