That reminds me of a fantastic story from when Danny Drew was chairman/manager. This Croation lad turned up claiming to be ex Yugoslav International Darko Bacic. Danny of course immediately signed him on 5 grand a week or whatever the going rate was for Limerick players at the time. There was just a couple of troubling details, one being that his age didnt really seem right and the other being that he didnt appear able to play football.Quote:

Any Shamrock Rovers fans know why Danny Murphy left? He didn't seem to play too much last year, was it O'Neill's decision to let him go or did he leave on his own accord?
He wasn't very good. Started the season well, but apart from flying in to tackles for the first 5 or 6 games he hasn't featured much and when he did he was really poor. I'd guess this means we are confident of Enda Stevens not going to the UK (who was a far, far better player than him last year despite being so young), or Conor Powell will come in to replace Murphy. Can't think of many other left-backs out there, so I presume one of those two will be lined up before letting Murphy go.Quote:
