You still trying to pass off you not knowing what you're talking about as a 'minor' fact? :D I've explained why it wasn't 'minor' in the Bohs SCP thread, which is obviously the one Wexfordned mistakenly thought he was posting in.

I say the striker maybe Dave Mooney, he's told he can go from Reading so. Havnt a notion who the midfielder is...could be Georgie boy, hes looking to stay in England and was app given a trial by Brighton earlier in the week.
Mooney can do better than Darlington if he's leaving Reading. Charlton want to keep him until the end of the season depending on how bad an injury he picked up is. Anyway, it sounds like they're coming from the LOI not from another English club.
In all fairness going back to the LOI would be a major stepdown for the man (no disrespect to anyone in the League). I'd say he'll stay in England.
We've signed Deery up, according to Radio Foyle.
Barry Molloy is at Bristol Rovers on trial, also according to Radio Foyle.
According to John Gregg, Institute manager, we're going to sign Stephen Parkhouse, Shaun Holmes and either David Ogilby or Mark Scotlock. This is in today's Derry News.
On a side note, he also states that the IL should look at Summer football. Stute have had two home games in the past week cancelled and Gregg says they can't afford to run the club without the matches.
Shock as club in financial trouble looks to deflect their problems away.
Parkhouse and Holmes played LoI before, didn't they? Are they past it now or are they good signings? Interesting to see what sort of team Derry get together this year.
Both were with Sligo Rovers last season.
From what I saw of Holmes, he should do well in the first division, not premier division standard. IIRC he was a part-timer with us, worked up in Derry, so this could suit right down to the ground.
Parkhouse was injured alot so its hard to wheter he's good enough or not, but he was a key factor in Finn Harps' promotion a couple of seasons ago.
FAO dublinred - any name(s) mentioned as to who it might be ?
Granted, but to be fair, they are doing something to sort it out by offloading a wreck of players, he has a point about the amount of matches cancelled because of winter weather. The IL will struggle to get caught up on all their matches before the split at the end of March.
As said, Sligo, and also Harps and ourselves.
Parkhouse is ok. Just ok, IMO. He'll do for the First Division, as long as he keeps fit (both injury-wise and weight-wise).
I like Holmes and think he'll do well enough for us.
Would hope we sign Scotlock as well. From what I've seen of him he, he seems a solid enough centre half.
He certainly can be a good player and showed that in glimpses last season .Very hard to come in an make a big impression last season in a struggling side , i reckon if he is given pre season with us under our good manager AM he will do the business . Hes from ardee allright and Drogheda united are his local club ;)
Parky is a cracking player, superb touch vision and passing. He is not a typical out and out striker but he likes to drop deep and if Farren is playing alongside him this season he will hit 20 goals plus easily. I hope he stays at 'Stute.
Holmes is quality on the ball but if the right winger has any pace then Homer is in big trouble. He is like trying to get a bus turned. He has also put on at least 2 stone weight since joining 'Stute. I'm not pushed if ye sign him or not.
As for Scoltock, please, Stephen Kenny if you are reading this, please sign him, he is the exact kind of player I would love to see at Derry :D
Ogilby is just another monster of a fella, just like that freak of nature Derry had last season. In fact Ogilby is probably a worse ball player. I hope the muckers sign him too. :p
If i'm not mistaken I think we were once linked with Scotlock.
4 Signings
How does anyone rate these players?Quote:
PETE MAHON SIGNS FOUR PLAYERS
St Patrick’s Athletic have today added four additions to the 2010 squad. They join recent signings: Gary Rogers, Derek Pender, Damian Lynch, Stuart Byrne and David McAllister.
ANDREW HARAN: Andy is a product of the Saints schoolboy system and first joined the club as a fifteen year old. The Julianstown man signed his first professional contract for St Pat's in 2009.
GARETH COUGHLAN - The 19 year old midfielder, like recent signing Derek Pender, has signed from Bray Wanderers. Promising young player who broke into the Bray team in 2008 and made 3 appearances against the Saints in 2009.
CONOR SINNOT: He finished the 2007 season as Wexford Youths top scorer with eight goals. Named in the PFAI First Division team of the year in 2007 and 2008. Was also one of three players nominated for the 2008 PFAI First Division player of the year.
BRIAN CASH: 25-year-old winger signed from Sligo Rovers. Enjoyed three seasons with the Bit O' Red making over 70 appearances and scoring 3 goals.
Yeah they should be, Id imagine the Bray lads and other who came from first divison wont be on very much dosh and well if ye are operating off a reduced budget...like us, then expect them all to be on less than they where on last season!
Just a rumour but its on our forum that Tiernan Mulvenna has left us to join Shels!
Connor Sinnot is a smashing player, was at Reading a few years back. Playmaker, really tidy on the ball. He's a much better version on Alan Cawley I would say. He was doubling up as Wexford's CPO I think...
Does anyone know what kind of player willo mc donagh is as we are constantly being linked with him. I'm following City in the Loi for the past 16 seasons and I've never heard of him.
On his day, Cash is quality. He is inconsistent though. When there was talk of Rovers letting him go mid season he upped his game and had a good spell for us but his form petered out subsequenty. If Pete Mahon can get the best out of him I'm sure he will be a good signing for ye.
Agree on Sinot, saw him twice in 2008 and he's a very clever ball player. I don't know if he'd be up to a full season in the top flight, but he's a good addition to the Pats squad, very typical Pete Mahon player.
A ****! We were very strongly linked with Sinnott!
Delighted to see Connor get a chance with a premier division team, he has great ability and can deliver a good set piece with both feet, can let a game pass him by too easily at times and needs players around him to get him on the ball, won't dominate games against better teams but can always make things happen. If anyone has the league cup final against Derry on tape anywhere have a look at it, he had a great game that day despite the hammering.
Just a pity it's not with the Youths, he was doing some promotions work for the club too so will certainly be missed.
Derek Pender turned down a better offer from Shels, sums up Derek a really top Pro wants to play at the top level and I hope he has a great season with Pat's, Gareth Coughlan has huge potential and is a very skillful winger and will also do well for Pat's.
Pete is signing the right type of player.
Vinny Faherty is currently training with Crystal palace and should be signing a contract by the end of next week. 2 other london based clubs are also after him.
Kenna and Mcnally signed with us apparently from the drogs.
He was an OK Premier Divison player based on what I saw of him but I wouldn't have said he'd be good enough to go to Crystal Palace. If the likes of Mooney and O'Donovan struggle to make a major impact in the Championship, I can't see him doing it.
Looks like an ex-UCD dream team of sorts if this turns out to be true. Quigley, McNally, Kenna, McFaul, Byrne and Finn. Kenna and McNally are excellent players, I'd rate McNally amongst the top 5 centre backs in the entire league. They've been a defensive partnership since the 2006 season and there won't be many, if any, teams with a better pairing than that.
