Yeah and its directed by C Eastwood and starring Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman:eek:
Think Spike Lee has been proved right on this one!!!:)
Wonder has any major South African stars featured in any of the leading roles?

But it's not.....
Goodbye Bafana is about his time in prison and the relationship with his Xhosa speaking white prison guard, although how much is fact and how much is fiction has been open to debate, Mandela himself did a foreward for the movie so there must be a reasonable amount of truth in it.
There was a proper documentary done about 10 years ago shortly after the end of apartheid too & I believe there is another Biographical movie in the making.
There was also Mandela and De Clerk with Sydney Poitier and Michael Caine although that was made for TV.

Went to see Sherlock Holmes earlier today. Not a bad film at all.
thanks razor. didnt know it was already released. thought it was a worldwide release in february. honestly dont know what to think of it. i read the book its based on and it follows the mandela angle in the book to the letter, but for some reason i expected more. that being said i still enjoyed and would recommend people see it. the rugby scenes are well done and the attention to detail in those scenes is incredible.
Just watched Australia there. Wow. Wish had seen it in the Cinema but still amazing. Made me cry in parts and smile too. Baz Luhrmann is a god.
Is that the one where he is a clown who robs the bank? A great movie if it is.
It would, but realistically for it to be a world wide commercial success Morgan Freeman in the lead role is much more marketable than some unknown south african.Personally it was the main reason I got interested in the movie initially... and he is very good in the role to be fair
more importantly, who plays Winnie?
Don't think she is in the film Can't see her listed in the characters on imdb anyhow

AFAIK Nelson & Winnie were seperated at the time the film is set
Just been to see Avatar and have to say I absolutely loved it. The storyline is very cliched really but I I didnt care, it was still an enjoyable storyline. The special affects and the 3D were incredible though. If you want a movie thats thought provoking or a bit arty stay away from this but if u want to just go and turn your brain off and be entertained for 2 and half hours then I couldnt recommend it highly enough
Dorian Gray ... switched off after half an hour or so. Fairly painful to watch!
The Taking Of Pelham 123 ...decent enough film
Taking of Pelham is (have to say this) as good as the original, if only because John Travolta is so nuts that the movie just runs along.
Saw the Invention of Lying today, good story, decent acting and while it's kind of typical Ricky Gervais, the moral of it is interesting. Very funny in parts, a good slag on religion but overall well worth watching.
Saw the comedy "Extract" by Mike Judge of Beavis and Butt head and Office space fame, a decent rental, but that's about it, just a few laughs here and there, with a very incredulous ending, to me at least.
Bit off topic but SaucyJack, I was watching 'This Is Spinal Tap' the other night (what a film by the way, I love it) and it came to the bit where they were discussing their planned projects including a musical based on Jack The Ripper called Saucy Jack and I knew someone on a forum I read had the log on SaucyJack, is that the inspiration for your name?.
It suited him to a tee because he is a naughty one. And indeed a haughty one.
saw The Blind Side tonight, good show was expecting more from the hype, but as usual i read to much about it, still though it was avery good show, i would deffinately recommend it,
4/5
Good stuff, a good choice. I'd forgotten that part of the film until I saw it the other night.
Just finished watching Paranormal Activity and the whole way through just thought, guy, trying to be tough and cool girlfriend slowly but surely losing patience until finally after the 50th time of saying "Turn off the camera" and "No, we're not doing it on camera" she knocks the lard out of him. As 86minutes of film it was a bit boring to sit through and had a predictable ending, in the same mould as Blair Witch (over hyped and over here) but probably cost less to make. Nowhere near as scary as The Omen II (I couldn't step into a lift for years after that) and certainly not as disturbing.
just saw Up In The Air, brilliant show, there big talk that this and avatar are the major best picture contenders for the oscars, theres still 3 months to the oscars, and this film is probably ahead by a good bit,
this is probably the best film ive seen with george clooney since oceans 11, (Michael Clayton the probably the main one i havent seen, didnt like Burn After Reading or Men Who Stare At Goats)
the story moves along at a good pace, and at 109 mins feels just right, there is plenty of story told in the film, there didnt seem to be any lull in the pace of the film, which i liked very much,
id give this a solid 5/5, and i wouldnt be surprised if it won best pic,
Watched 3 good horror DVD's over Xmas.
Drag Me To Hell:Girl working in a bank refuses an old lady a loan to keep her house and ends up with a curse on her head which she has 3 days to overturn. Some good frights along the way and much better than I expected :8/10
The Orphan:American family adopt a Belarussian kid but all is not what it seems as the kid doen't exactly fit in well with her new family. 8/10
Horsemen Of The Apocalypse; Denis Quaid as a recently bereaved Cop who tackles a serial killer with biblical references (a bit like "Seven"),I enjoyed it anyhow:). 7.5/10
Just watched Wanted with James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie. Brutal in both senses of the word. 1/5
Agreed, I thought it was going to be another rollercoaster with the Director in place and a couple of the actors involved, but it was poor in spite of some good effects. If you want to see something very good that this Director has done check out Nigh****ch and Daywatch (they've been on E4 a few times) and remember that the subject matter is almost too close to the truth, okay, apart from vampires, magicians and werewolves etc. But the special effects, humour and dialogue make Wanted look like a straight to betamax effort.
District 9...weird, but decent film.
