balla and pike final i think. pike should beat clonmel sunday will be great game of football
Having seen both Pike & Clonmel, I think that it will be a tough match. Might not be the prettiest to watch , will need a strong ref and decent condition(no wind). I will have to go with pike on this one..
To the pike players..... be careful of the niggly off the ball crap from your oponents..
 in response to the niggly off the ball crap, if you can't play mind games then don't play at all!! obviously u saw the janesboro game with town and no doubt you will say that janesboro were totally innocent on the day, town have pedigree in cup competitions like this over the last few years(have been finalists past 3 years) so obvioulsy it takes a lot more than just ball playing to get you there, maybe its lack of stomach for a fight on your behalf which is certainly not towns fault! Hopefully it'll be a good game though!
are you saying they cheat?
no not that they cheat just that are able to outbattle opponents when it comes down to a tight(physical if you like) game thats all!! this off the balll crap as stated above is bull, why single town out when it goes on every week in football, its just stinks of biterness is all!
Just because some teams CHEAT at all levels of football every week does not take away from the fact that it is CHEATING. The mindset that you espouse is the winning at all cost even at the expense of the game. i am not being bitter about the clonmel V boro tie. as stated previously on this site the better team on the day won and scored one of the best goals i have seen all season anywhere, but some of the "outbattling" by clonmel was a disgrace. a player was punched off the ball among other carry on. If you think that this is the way fwd for football, good for you. I will agrre to differ with you on that point. I take it that clonmel will be wearing angelic white on sunday!!!By the way no Tipp Officials this week....
the ref left them kick us off the pitch out there a few years in the fai .... 5 or 6 of that team are still involved and another two are managing ... it wont be happening this time
I played down in Clonmel a few years ago with Mungret in the Munster junior quarter final. To say that we were shafted on the day by the Tipp officials would be an understatement. We had a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside and there were a lot of other dodgy decisions given against us. We went to the pub after and to rub salt in the wounds the three officials were thick as thieves below in the corner drinking with the Clonmel players and management.
who is the ref for sunday? pike are no pushovers when it comes to the rough and tumble they are a big side sounds like they will need it sunday.would they be more physical then the boro id say so
pike's discipline is second to none. Can't see them losing their heads with off the ball incidents. Think it will be the other way around myself. They are well used to playing the likes of Ballynanty and carew park two teams well renowned for this type of thing.
whatever about discipline it is usually around this stage of these competitions that pike have struggled in the last few years, last years fai, this years fai, wouldn't be susprised to see clonmel turn them over but i don't think they will do it by being overly physical, the way to beat pike is to run at them with pace like and play football, as if it becomes a tight physical battle they invariably come out on top. on another note maymount could be a good outside bet have been knocking around for a few years now at the business end of these competitions.
