He wasn't talking about what they were doing though he just said that Hamilton are not a powerhouse and im just making the point that it makes no difference.

Yeah but for a manager, you can show your talent at a small club so it doesn't matter if they're not a powerhouse. When you haven't even been a manager though, questions have to be asked about why, and why you're at such a lowly club with no managerial record to speak of. It does make a difference.
Baraclough got sacked at Scunthorpe so didn't exactly show too much talent. All im saying is yes bringing in this fella is a risk but bringing in those too were risks too maybe not as big a risk but a risk all the same. There are reasons in the background why he has been picked too from what i hear.
What are the reasons though? Fair play if they've unearthed a hitherto untapped talent, but it all seems a bit odd since the club did absolutely nothing to quash rumours of big-money appointments like Brown and Taylor. I know Pat O'Sullivan is good at playing the media game but I think he might have a bit of trouble being taken seriously if this turns out to be what it was all leading up to.
It's a risk but at least it's done now. I can only presume the club were advised to talk to this guy cause I don't see how the club could have known anything about him before. It will be interesting to see what the club say when it's announced. Certainly not the experienced manager they advertised for though. Once he knows how to work well with the coaches and players he has he should do fine.
There has been a lot of nonsense said about the application process ever since all and sundry declared Roddy Collins a possibility...because Roddy said he was.
If its this Taylor guy, fine, I'm more then willing to roll out the welcome mat and give him a shot. I certainly would have preferred someone with a bit more management experience, but it's still not the most alluring of job opportunities, millionaire backers or no. I wonder if it'll ever become clear how many people were actually seriously considered and why they were turned down.
Ex Limerick player John Sullivan that was with him at Hamilton rates him anyway if anyone cares

If its true what Loi blog is saying about the next limerick manager!! watch out!! Great coach and brilliant man manager !!
If the rumours are true its a great appointment cant wait for kick off
The leftfield appointment I expected to be honest. Has a Pro license and coached Hamilton in the Scottish First but apart from that it's a bit meh. Could be a gem, could be a disaster. Let's get behind him but not been impressed at all with the process or of the club in general of late to be honest.
I thought the reason why it has taken so long was that we were looking for a high profile manager. I have never heard of him and i would be fairly confident not many have either. Whether this is a good appointment time will tell. All i want now is the players to be sorted out as quickly as possible. Any news on signings?
that doesnt look great when you consider all we have signed is gamble, kelly and bradley from last years winning team. Ok we have mcgrath, mcgann and coughlan also but to be fair they could not hold down a starting place last year. So with that does that mean taylor will be bringing in anything up to ten players from england. It just makes it more important that gaffney, tracey and o leary are signed.
