Essentially he's a replacement for Jota. They don't have a manager at the moment. That worries me. Obviously the club is close to home so it suits on that front. I wouldn't have thought it would suit on any other front.

BLUES WIN RACE FOR CROWLEY
Birmingham have beaten PSV and Feyenoord in the race to sign former Arsenal and Aston Villa trainee Dan Crowley, according to Skysources.
The fee agreed with Willem II is believed to be worth £750k.
The midfielder is now back in the West Midlands for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
PSV would have been Ideal. 2nd last season. Managed by Mark Van Bommel. Not treading on Liam Kelly's toes.
Very disappointing move, hope it works out but its hard to see it.
I wonder how interested PSV actually were. Would he have had much chance of actually getting game time there, they look a very useful side? Don't get me wrong, it'd have still been a far more interesting and probably beneficial move than Birmingham!

I count 1 opening goal, and 2 assists for Dan today vs Swindon. Impressive start.
Agree disappointing move. Probably homesick, wanted to return to midlands. Note he only signed a two year contract (option of extra year but not compulsory), in his mind his plan will be to impress prem league club this year to maneuver a move next summer whereby a reasonable offer will have to be accepted or risk losing him for free the following summer. I’d expect Willem II to have a 10% sell on clause given the low fee, similar to the 1 euro they sold De Jong for, but made 7.5m on the subsequent sale to Barcelona.
Regarding interest from other clubs, it’s very easy to get fake rumors to gain traction in these days. Transfer gossip is gone to the dogs destroyed by greedy agents
Word on the street is he just helped destroy Swindon in a pre season friendly .
Name checked by McCarthy in the FAI press release about Marcus Harness this morning so a strong possibility that he'll be in the next squad.
Watched most of first half of Birmingham vs Brentford. Crowley is excellent, has to be called into next squad
