Does anyone know for certain if Gatwick has a 24 hour pub - don't want a repeat of Milan airport last month when we had to spend the nite their & no open bars or alcohol available anywhere until 6am!!!
Provided you are "airside" which I assume you will be, then don't panic.....there are places to get a beer (or six!):D

anyone staying at Hotel Maxim? had to book an extra night as my dad is coming now too and he didn't fancy pulling an all-nighter before the horrendous 06.45 flight back on sunday. sveta's prices had gone up massively for the saturday night!! don't they know we found out how bad it is??
How many days does it take the banks to get in the lev after you order it? How much would people recommend to bring?
The airport has an ATM so no need to worry really when you get to Sofia .
when did they get rid of oneills in Gatwick hornet? did they replace it with wetherspoons?! Didnt think it was that long ago I was there!!
Whatever yez do, dont be relying on the bereau de change at Sofia airport as its suppose to be the worst exchange possible.
Your best of getting it from credit union they have better rate.
I got mine last week , changed 300 euro and got 550 Lev. Ill have bank card for back up if need but at 3 lev a drinks should be ok.
The rate was 1.83 Lev to €1 in credit union
In the banks it was was 1.75.
Took credit union week to get Lev in, ring your local credit union and order it today , if your not in credit union just ring and quote a family or friend name that is a member in your local credit union , thats what we did
im in gatwick at 21.25, so i will only get about a hour at the bar!! some balls, next flight is at 06.30, gates prob open at 4 so i will need an offy!!
is it a cause of bringing a few cans or what?
Pints a euro each on average, grub bound to be reasonably priced outside the main gafs, say 6/7 euros for a good feed, 3 of those a day. Everything within walking distance if your in around the centre. Maybe 20 - 30 euros each night for when your ****ed and cant remember what mad drinks and other things you were paying for.
So I'd say handy 60/70 a day, and be doing well to spend that.
Im changing 350euro!!!! So is the credit union the best way to get your money exchanged?
anyone in gatwick doin the all nighter on the thursday night?!
lads germanwiings do cheap flight back to london stansted on the monday from sofia if anyone still lookin ..got it for bout 110 euro for that
good man galah, get tanked up there isn't much seats in gatwick terminal in fairness, so get into wetherspoons and just lap on their couches if you can get away with it!
There is a Wetherspoons is the south terminal but no O' Neills anymore. I havent been in the North terminal in an awful long time, so I cant comment on that.
However, the south terminal is being re-vamped and the security area is a mess now so give it extra time, if you are passing through during peak hours.
ya you are right, atmosphere wise they are generally full of chavy types, like hornet etc. Having said that i have a loyalty card for oneills in liechester square because i go there a "bit" too ofren and its a good spot, especially if its a weekend and you are on the lookout. But your point is correct, these places are crap and close around 11.30 and have no atmosphere what so ever, that oneills down in Putney is a perfect example big open space but boring even when it was full of celtic fans for those matches. The bigger issue is its all brewery owned, not many freehouses to be honest and those that are are generally dingy Irish pubs ( though I like dingy Irish pubs!!). Porterhouse is the only freehold i can think of in London thats any good.
