Mirror story linking Doyle to Arsenal here: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...name_page.html
He runs like a white Micheal Johnson!!!... Good alround player. Works hard. Uses the ball well. Decent in the air. He's never gonna turn a defender inside out though.
Has to contend with the difficult second season in the premiership now. Would like to see him and Robbie keane get more pitch time together. Hopefully they'll both do the summer Friendlies!!
Quite frankly, I'd be worried if Doyle went to Arsenal, the amount of players that have come through the youths/reserves there and gone on to be regulars in the first team is woeful, while players that have been brought in have become mainstays.
Just off the top of my head Stack, Cregg, O'Donnell, Bentley, Stokes, Barrett, Owusu-Abeyie, Volz, Upson, Sidwell, Bothroyd all got sold off despite being highly rated at Arsenal, or left because they couldn't force their way into the (admittedly outstanding) starting XI.
Doyle is doing well at Birmingham and has become first choice keeper despite his age, and IMO would be better off staying there and playing rather than moving and rotting on the bench or in the reserves
Oh right.... Sorry thought you meant Kevin :o :o
He has been doing very well for them alright, i remember when he was on loan at forest at he had ability then. Great to see our players being linked with top clubs, and it bodes well for Given's eventual retirement.

I think that was a tongue in cheek remark as he knows those two are highly regarded by Wenger. By all accounts Doyle was superb against Wolves today, a 90th min penalty save putting the icing on the cake. I rate Maik Taylor so Doyle deserves great credit for keeping him out of the team and given how important each game is for Brum at the moment this is really good big game experience for him.
Colin Doyle had a fantastic game aginst Wolves today. On this performance, he is the outstanding candidate to become Shay Givens successor. This could happen a lot sooner than most people, myself included, anticipated. Best young keeper I have seen in a long time.
I was watching the game too, Doyle really kept Birmingham in the game in the first half before they went ahead. A stunning point blank save from Keogh was the highlight, and Wolves must have gone in wondering how they were not ahead.
What was worrying was it was 2 similar goals that put Wolves ahead, crosses to the far post met by an on-rushing player to score.
I had a feeling he was going to save the penalty before it was struck, just something about his body language, the way he stood on the line, even if it was a poor penalty.
Supple is a fantastic talent also. He played today against Norwich and he looks to me to be a far better keeper than Doyle was at the same age (19). I reckon he'll be the successor to Given.
They both look excellent though. Logan is apparently pretty handy also though I haven't seen much of him. Good riddance Paddy Kenny.
Now all we need is a left back and another couple of central defenders and we're rolling.
Chris McCann comes on & gets the winner against West Brom.

preston v leicester 0-1
Logan managed to hang on to the shirt despite a poor previous game and kept a clean sheet in a win/game which some are describing as the most important in recent times at this club, Maybury was dropped to the bench, and Yeates not involved at all, with Henderson and St. Ledger playing for preston, the former keeping Lonergan (green granny job anyone?:) ) out of their promotion chasing side.
heres the os report, look like Logan had a lucky moment with a charged down clearence in the first half.

Strachan has decided to allow Jim O'Brien to play for Dunfermline in the Scottish cup final, even though he wasn't allowed play against Celtic in the league. Should be a good experience for him.
Sunderland vs Burnley
Connolly had an assist, missed, then made a penalty, and I almost fell over when he missed the first one. Murphy looked quite good and tapped in Connolly cross for the first goal. Stokes looked OK to start but he quite often shows his youth when he is on the wing shooting and he has two men in the box. Miller wasn't too bad either, helping Sunderland too their 2nd penalty
Murphy has improved no end. I remember I seen him playing for Waterford and I thought them he had something to suggest he could play at a higher lever but he has surpassed my expectations Miller done well, but I think he lacks the physical presence to be a central midfielder. Stokes started well, but lacks experience in the left wing position to make a proper impact. Connolly was the pick of the Irish, busy, tenacious and always dangerous. Showed great character to step up for the second peno after missing the first.
For Burnley good to see young Chris McCann. Started well, unfortunatley had to go off due to an injury early on.
Murphy had a great game... Connolly had a good game. Liam Miller played well over all, but got cought once or twice.... Stokes played like a school boy!! Disapointed with him again. Has good technique but doesn't use the ball well.
Watched the game last night as well, missed the first 15 minutes or so. Agree with most of the comments here, Murphy was the standout player of the Irish lads, Connolly was decent enough, Miller didn't impose himself enough on the game for a central midfielder (apart from the pass that led to Sunderland's second penalty) and Stokes was unimpressive, apart from a run midway through the second half. He does seem a little lost out on the wing, anyone know why Keane is playing him there instead of up front?
