Are these official attendances?
A group of us came over from England for four games in three days, including a pre season match at Coleraine.
We did a rough 'head count' about halfway through the first half in each game. We counted everyone behind the barriers, i.e. not including any playing staff, but everyone else. The paying attendance will naturally be lower than this!
Fri 15 - Athlone Town v. Dublin City (280)
Sat 16 - Coleraine v. Rushden & Diamonds (410)
Sat 16 - Finn Harps v. Bohemians (1,100)
Sun 17 - Monaghan United v. Dundalk (220)
For the Finn Harps game, there were approx - Open side (180), Open terrace behind goal (400), Seats (120) and Covered terrace (400). I'd guess there were about 400-500 Bohs fans there. It did appear that a number of supporters, particularly on the covered side, went at half time, not to return!
I hope this is of help!?
Only for some clubs. Shels, Cork, St Pat's, Bohs, Limerick and Galway are the only clubs who release official attendances. The rest are "educated" guesses.Quote:

Harps is a bit out though - any Harps fans want to settle the difference?
As three of us counting independently came up with remarkably similar figures for Finn Harps, then I'd be surprised if it was finally settled at 800. I personally counted twice, so that's four (that ranged between approx 1,050 - 1,150).
However, we asked a very helpful steward what he considered to be the attendance and he said 800 !
After the game, we asked a man in the press box and he said it was around 1,500 !
Add the two together and divide by two and you get 1,150.
In non league football in England, there are many different policies on attendance calculations. Some leagues accept pay on the day only, other include season ticket holders, some 'add' a set amount to cover club officials, media etc and some just do a head count or estimate!
I think the League Of Ireland should stipulate that clubs report official attendances including all non playing staff, broken down in to paying spectators and complementaries and other freebies. A simple figure for each match could then be published for each match.
It's not that it's embarrasingly low figures as the Scottish Football League and Welsh Premier League openly publish theirs and there are some very low figures. I don't think the Irish League publish theirs either, do they?
I gave the original figure of 800 for harps/ Bohs and I emphasise it was a guess - my first time at finn park and it does help to know a ground; There wasn't anything like 4-500 Bohs fans there tho', that I do know; we brought maybe 200 which is pretty damn good for a 300 mile round trip, which means we could bring that to Derry, Cork and Waterford if the games were on Saturdays instead of Friday ( I know Derry usually are but we're now playing our rescheduled match on Tues. 2)
1,000 or so , I think :confused:Quote:

I'd say about 2,500-3,200 at the Carlisle tonight. Loadsa Shels fans. :o
They were probably hoping for an easy win..... :D

Attendence at 3000 tonite I think, possibly more but shar it was around 3000 in the anyway (as the famous Noel King once said). 800-1500 Shels fans  (Bohs were the only team to bring more this season if my memory serves me correctly).Quote:

1014 at Pats v Waterford (official).
Woeful, and getting worse. It'll be interesting to see what we get next weekend for the Cork match - seeing as it's on the Sunday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend, there's no excuse for Cork bringing anything less than 20,000.
OK, the fact that Richmond has a capacity of 5,500 MIGHT just be extenuating circumstances...
Estimated 5500 City v Rovers but official figure in couple of weeks could be lower.
Offcial Attendance for City v Bohs from couple of week ago was 3600.
Didn't think there were as many last night as there were at Bohs match - which your guesstimate put at 2,791 :) .Quote:

No more than 3,500 at it.
I also was out of the country for that one??Quote:

This is the "Derry Holidays"- the weeks when all the shirt factories used to be off and everyone went on their holidays. Although the vast majority of factories remain, the tradition remains.Quote:

Do you think that there were more Bray fans last night than at the Bohs game, I said that only Bohs brought more but it seemed to be a similar attendence so maybe there were more home fans.Quote:

The seats looked 80% full (first half) and behind the goal had plenty of people as well, how full did the shed look?
The bad side of summer soccer. Glad to know the prospect of watching us alone didn't lower the attendence an excuse other teams use.Quote:

2,500 seats (must count one of those blocks of seats sometime) 80% of that would be 2,000 plus say 400 at the end and 400 in the shed - say 2,801?
:)
Being pedantic I would have said less than 400 behind the goal, more like 200. The stand did seem 80% full but I've no idea what the capacity is and yeah around 400 in the shed. So around 2,601 :)
Well brief history lesson... Derry City had five figure crowds when they joined the League back in 1985.... and are the only team whose crowds have fallen by 600% in the last 20 years :pQuote:

Yes but they proved to be typically fickle Irish so called football supporters :DQuote:
