There are probably some very obvious ones now but what advantages are there in holding a British passport?

There are advantages to holding an Irish one. Shorter queues in airports for example.

Mine was useful for returning to Canada and at the time when you didnt need a visa to the US when you had a british one. Also may have found a way to get to live legally in the US with my british one and thats why I will be renewing it soon and getting my sons one each.

Came in this morning to work to find an article I submitted a few months ago had been published!

I think it was a joke - a lot of the article is code, incoherent to anybody who doesn't know quite a lot about........whatever it was you wrote about.
