I'm not saying that you would be afraid of them much to the contrary. I only love a good physical challenge.
It's the refs that get intimidated that's the point I'm making. They get away with alot more in their pitch than they would at any other pitch in town.
Are you saying that some of those involved with Shelbourne would carry on the way they do in their place, away from home???
Well they behaved when they came up to us. I don't believe half the crap I hear about Shels. They have a few good lads and a couple of fiery lads but they seem to get labelled the team from Hell!! One of them went in hard on me in our game and I was hurt. Several of their players were asking if I was ok and were very sporting about it. However I do agree with you that refs get intimidated. I've seen it happen myself. They are just human and it's not an easy job..
Coonagh 3-1 Park
Croom 10-1 Shels
Have you played away to Shelbourne yet?? If not, then hold your judgement until then.
The way 3 or 4 of them carried on against us after our game on a public street a few weeks back, is nothing short of shocking.
Like I said before, the majority of their players are fine but they have 3 or 4 that really take the biscuit.
Even their own players said so after the game.
this is my first post so would just like to say a lot of the shels team are mates of mine and theres a couple of ye in here seem to really have it in for them,in my opinion every team has a few players that are fiery and shels are no different and about that game in knockainey i was there it was the home team that started that shels were 3-1 up with 5 mins left in a semi final so why would they want to start a fight, knockainey knew what they were doin coz when shels got thrown out they went on to win the cup, goes to show next time your losing a match to shels try and get it abandoned chances are they will get the blame
and just a quick note to abbeyvale i read on one of your posts that only one shels player would be able for premier keith o donnell, what about damien leo the man has three irish caps has won 2 premier leagues with balla in fact he was the reason they won their first one in nearly 20 years he got player of the season his first season with them when they won it,he also got man of the match in their fai junior quater final and semi final whaen they were unlucky to lose to st michaels, the only reason he left balla was because he couldnt give them the commitment the wanted they have already asked him back for next season,so when you hace the awards and the recognition that man has come back and tell me he is not able for pemier football.....
sorry bout that abbeyvale just realised it was gaidin that said that not you, anyway i should of also pointed out that stephen leo played the last few years in the premier with ball and the cronin brothers are 2 fine players the younger ger would give any defence in any league a hard time
Dont even start this SH*T again, It was Knockainey who started that last season, We were 3-1 with 5mins to go, Why would we want to start a fight, when we played them at the start of the season we were once again 3-1 up and there players started again, but on this day the ref done the right thing by booking 5 of there players and sending off there manager...
damien was an excellent player before he got terrible injury, but i saw him a few time with balla before he left them and he was only a liability.he was sent off every time they needed him and let them down, plus i do,nt think he,d get into balla team now ahead of robbie brock.
We travelled out to CROOM this morning for the ref to call the game off, A member of the Croom management said that he made contact with the ldmc yesterday to say that the pitch was unplayable,(waterlogged) The LDMC need to action this... Its a waste of time travelling to matches knowing that the game is going to be off. The same thing happened last Sunday when we travelled out to knockainey... Its a JOKE!!
Coonagh 7 Park 2 this morning out in Coonagh. Ref Ollie Hayes blew the game up 10 minutes early ...
Would have to agree Knockainey are no saints prospect played em out there twice this year and the first match was a league game the centre half for Knockainey knocked one of the prospect lads out with a punch while they {Knockainey} were attacking a corner for no reason at all that guy was a bit mad he was at it the whole game ref Johnny Carey looking straight at it and did'nt send him off joke a big brawl broke out .The next match was a lawson cup game they left that centre half on the side line but it was their tall lanky Crouchy centre forward that was at it the whole game this time. He was throwing digs at everyone and right near the end he nearly broke the prospect full backs leg with a tackle and when the full back got up Crouchy threw a punch at him again Johnny Carey left it go did'nt produce any cards and a big fight broke out Prospect won that game 4-2 so a bit of sour grapes cause they were losing i'd say......
No complaints about the result. We were beaten all over the pitch--physically. 5 set piece goals- 4 corners and 1 free kick. Pitch was bad enough. Held well through the middle but was very poor on the wings. Just a quick word on the Ref lads, this applies for Coonagh too, what in the name of god is he doing "reffing" junior games.
Just one that stands out in the memory. A drop ball our lads kicks it back to their full back and the ref shouts out "your not aloud to touch it! your not aloud to touch!" What the hell sort of invented rule is that.:D :D
Where was he last year when Caherdavin took the ball to make it 1-1 with five to play before it could reach our full back....:D

The average age of the side is just under 23. We really lack experience. All the lads are goods players. At home we can beat anyone, it's away from home where you need the old heads to guide you through that in my opinion is where why are slipping at the moment.
Axe Man: Just a little point, have you ever mentioned Coonagh without using the words "physical" or "physically".
would agree with 3-4 players being b team standard but in fairness to murphy he has scored a lot of goals this season for park,, i think park have to many nice footballers need a few big strong players how are not afraid to get stuck in.. plus they also have a few lads very fond of the disco on saturday nights :ball:
your 100% right, unfortunately ldmc decided a while back that the clubs can no longer call off the matches instead it must come down to the referee.the 1st thing wrong with that is that the ref will get paid just to turn up and say the pitch is unplayable when the club knew that 24 hrs earlier.and secondly what chance have clubs got when they think the game should,nt go ahead but the referee decides otherwise and then the pitch gets a battering and making it unplayable for weeks after
Fairview 5-1 Pike. No complaints as View were far better on the day. We had only 11 but it wasn't a bad 11, so take nothing away from a good Fairview performance. We'll get it out of us next week and get back on track. On another note, great to see so many people taking an intrest in this thread. 1B getting plenty of coverage.. Keep it coming lads...
Can't believe that about Shels going to Knockainey and Croom only to be sent home. A proper disgrace that is. Price of petrol as well as wasting lads time. Ldmc want to sort it lively..
Croom's pitch was totally unplayable yesterday, But we should not have to travel away to games when the home team have already made contact on the saturday to say that there pitch was unplayable, As for going all the way out to knockainey we when we got there the Ref said that the pitch was like a swamp, Ya Right.. We walked the pitch and it was in great condition no excess rain at all on it, Its a joke in all fairness....

Lads, pretty sure the table now looks like this after w'end..
Thats assuming only Fairview and Coonagh games were played. Getting very tight at the top. Any two from top six could go up. I'm still saying Croom and Shels.
