My word, don't encourage him.....

He won't be able to find it.
Not really that strange. The English FA's jurisdiction governs the Channel Islands.
Rangers racked up another loss there this evening against Slovenian high-flyers, Maribor... Meanwhile, Shamrock Rovers battled to a very entertaining and hard-fought 1-1 draw with Partizan Belgrade. Could have won the game in the dying moments actually. Did you watch it, CR?
No, it wasn't on television here in Canada, sorry. We're seven hours behind ye. Let's see who makes it through to the next round before we make any judgements on Shamrock Rovers vs. Rangers, shall we?
Funnily enough, I thought it had been yourself raising contrasts back in post #621.
I wonder how many goals he will put past Chelsea?
Scored one already, great composure on the ball there. Well done shane
here is the goal (crap quality)

it will be deleted soon i expect.
Unfortunately I missed the goal, just saw a replay though in better quality.
A great start to his season at WB, joint top scorer.
Goal all of his own making robbed the defender, held off his challenge and great finish.
He almost had an assist but his pass was poor, a heavy touch.
Chelsea look poor.
its on TV here. Was a lovely, lovely finish and a great opportunist move to rob Alex and get the chance in the first place. His attempted assist for Tchoi was really really bad though. I thought he should have taken the shot himself anyway.
Too think I took long out and replaced him with drogba.
More fool you.
But we could have said that about you before that mistake :P
I panicked on Thursday and slept in today. Ah well Paul. I'll survive.
Goal is here anyway.

So I guess it'll be Keane and Long up front in the Slovakia game especially with Doyle not being quite at full sharpness yet.
It was like Michael Owen at his peak. Great work first to win the ball, speed past Alex and wait until the keeper went to ground before slotting the ball into the net. World class finishing. How much is Long worth now?
Very impressive goal by Long, all of his own making too, showed great opportunism to steal the ball and then showed good strength in muscling Alex who is no lightweight off the ball. Was kind of expecting him to miss after doing all the hard work but he showed great composure to finish it off. On current form I think I'd have him Irish team ahead of Doyle at the moment.
Like it was such a shame how Shamrock Rovers ran out of steam in the last 20 or 25 minutes last night, it was embarrassing. And as for extra time, well they were practically walking werent they, it was shocking. :)
I see he managed 88 minutes today...
How did he play? Had the kids so couldn't get away to watch. Flying home for the All-Ireland so I need to stay in her good graces :)
There are loads of Scottish players who play in England. Absolutely loads. The Scottish squad has always been full of players from the Scottish league. How many LOI players play for the national team or have done in the last 30 years in a competitive game?Quote:
Zing!!!!!
LOI fans making jibes like this against the Scots like this should have a look at their own product before slagging anyone elses, we're not in a position to mock. Don't worry I'm here to put you back in your place. I have an affinity for the Scots, they support their own league despite sharing the same land mass as England, we should try and learn from them, not mock them.
No, I've been to Shels game since I was six years old, I don't get it. I'm against people ignoring their own league. People can support who they wish, but support you own clubs as well. A lot of Scots have an affinity or whatever for some English clubs but their own always come first, no matter how crap they may be.
Getting a bit worried about shane.wasn't as hyped as some about how quickly he would adapt.i hope it wasn't a flash in the pan
looked like he had a few chances on match of the day last night. on another day ....
Stapleton at the age off 55 would have buried the first chance Long had.
Scored the second for West Brom, 2-0 up after ten minutes against Sunderland
How'd he get on yesterday? There's a statement in the F365 Winners and Loosers Section fromt he Weekend that he's "Leading the way for the Newcomer of the Season"
I watched the game and he was very impressive. Won every ball, bullied their defenders, very canny layoffs etc. Shows unreal pace at times too.
Interviewer and interviewee (his manager) were both impressed:

Great to hear the rave reviews about Shane Long. The interviewer stating that Long was a snip at £4.5m and it was one of the best front-running displays by any player in the PL this season is heartwarming! Hodgson saying it was Long's first season in the premiership is somewhat inaccurate though.
In fairness to Long he's learned the hard way in the championship, every time I see him play he's very aggressive in the way he attacks the ball. It's clear he's used to the more combative defenders in the championship and that's translated into the premiership very well. 3 premier league goals but one against Chelsea and one against Man United is testament to his ability to cause problems. Surely the bigger clubs are taking note in the same way they did about Doyle at that age?
Roy has that problem like many londoners of pwonouncing his "r's" correctly...>:D
