Portmarnock [Dublin]
i think Bellurgan Utd v Carrick Utd was played last Saturday - any result?
Carrick won 1-0 but i heard they had two of their best players sent off also. Depending on the the circumstances they may miss the next round.
To keep it simple, Woodview them selves told us if the referee did to them what he did to us, he would be bundled in to the boot of a car:D
Shocking display from him, however surprised woodview hadn't the savvy to take advantage of our 9 men for 45 minutes "same as kevins in the last round with the same referee" but you got your late late goal and all credit, it was expected once two were sent off.
We could have even nicked it and fairly sure 11 men would have anhilated woodview. if's, buts and maybe's.
Carrick v Portmarnock
Killester v Clonmel Town.
Two cracking ties, and two of the favourites guaranteed to go out. My €50 each way on Pike at 18/1 is looking better and better. :D :ball:
Sorry mate, but we have heard it all before. Dublin clubs whinging about country refs. Please accept defeat. If you are bet by a team from the third division of the Meath league you are not good enough.
Maybe maybe, but a 3rd division team "who boast three well know and excelletn footballers" couldn't break down 9 men for the entire second half, I think you might be getting a picture here.
ps: were not moaning at-all, simply stating a fact. its bonus football in the end, back to the league and bread and butter!
Us dubs have never said all country refs are like this so dont make out its bad sportsmanship
but i would be ashamed to win a game if they referee is blatantly robbing the opposition.
a few bad decisions will always happen in any game but the fact you lot come on here calling people sore losers when you know quite well the referee was cheating is pathetic.
you need to take a good look at yourselves
Who are the 3 well known footballers?
I don't understand what you are saying that they could not break down 9 man team. On one hand you are saying they are well known so they must be good but on the other you are saying they are no good. Please name the 3 and elaborate on your point.
PS how well known could 3 meath 3rd division players be.
How do i know that the ref cheated. What i do know is that any time a Dublin team is bet we hear the exact same story.
Thats probably summing up my point. in the pub after the game "and thanks for the sambo's by the way", the players from woodview weren't hiding the fact that the fella was card happy and free kick happy at times for literally nothing. and why would they?
This happened to kevins in the last round, same ref, same opposition. two off.
We havent had one player sent off in the junior cup until yesterday. and we had some tough games, in particular the o'devaney game.
One thing to note though, for all this dublin or them way of thinking, a team would not get that treatment in dublin.
Please name the 3 well known players

Ray McCann, an irish army international
Mickey O'Kane "dundalk fc 04-05" "we would certainly of known him"
Conor Murphy "well known in junior football, in dundalk particularly"
!
The point is simple, three good individual players, not bad on the ball but individuality is one thing, as a unit is another and with our 9 men, woodview actually didn't know what to do with the extra men, they had four on the back line and really if they didn't score in the last minute i think it would have puzzled them as to why they couldn't finish off the 9 men considering it was all of 45 mins.
I think that clarifys that point, what you reckon?
Thanks for clearing that up. From what you say they will not go too much further
It wouldn't be nice to say they wont go any further, anything can happen and i dont know anything about wembley in Limerick.
Their not bad in fairness, but neither is any side in this round.
The only thing i can say is that they might get a sample of what ourselves and kevins got. the law of averages sais it will happen.
we had some supporters who in their time won the junior cup for cabra based teams a long time ago, they have seen allot and they were saddended to see blatent decisions that were off the wall. that referee didn't speak to one player and didn't use what all referees should use in common sense!
Who was sent off for Carrick yesterday?
Alan "Minge" Ryan was hardly one of them, was he?
got it in one:rolleyes: I think he scored and then got sent off. No idea who the other player was.
Lads any information on woodview celtic...
i sent you a pivate message!

is'nt it strange that all the good sides that have been knocked out in the last two rounds have been devestated with injuries or had the worlds worst refs totally against them,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not one has said that they wer'nt good enough on the day and they did'nt deserve to go through,is it that hard to comprehend that their are good sides elsewhere than your own leagues,is it too much to say that maybe you wer'nt good enough on the day and the better side won,to the lads who say pike will have it handy down in cork, clon celtic said that and peake said it too and look what happenend, grattan played against celtic on there pitch beat them and had only 12 fit first team players and 4 B team players, they played against peake with the same 12 first team players and another 4 B team players, they just got on with it win or loose, our center forward who b4 his injury has nearly 20 goals in17 games was out, our sweeper was out our winger is caught up with duty in the curragh and the center half that played against peake saturday ,the smaller of the 3, that was his first game back in about 3 months due to a bad thigh strain,so they are winning by puttin in the effort on the day,and mayb havin luck on there side to sometimes, any team that reachs the last 16 deserve the respect of the others and i dont think any of them will look at each other and say that havin to play an away game will be a handy win::o
explain
A player getting sent off in the quarter final of the FAI Junior Cup and cleared to play in the semi final. Remember the Carew Park V Westport United semi final and all the trouble that came with it.
you should know by know that theres ways and means to get round anything if you know the right people,if your the right club you could even get the ref to apoligse to the player for annoying him with the red card, why should some clubs have to suffer the annoyence of havin players sent from the field of play tut tut tut ........................THERE ARE SOME CLUBS OUT IN JUNIORLAND THAT ARE SO WELL IN WITH THE FUNNYFOLK IN AREA 51 (MERRION SQUARE TO THE UNEDUCATED) THAT THE RULE BOOK IS ONLY USED WHEN THE SOFT VELVET DOUBLE SHEETS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE IN THE CLUBHOUSE JACKS:p
The above is a direct contradiction of your post above
my first post was regardin the fact that teams that have gone out in the last 2 rounds seem to have 2 things in common, bad refs and players out with injuries or suspensions, and its never just that they were'nt up to it on the day,my second post was regardin the fact that i had no previous knowledge of what thunderblaster was on about and i wanted him to explain exactly what he was on about, and the 3rd post was,in my own opinion for what its worth my up take on things in juniorland at the minute, there was a time when if u got sent off in the fai or munster junior you only served the suspension in whichever competition u got sent off in,now you have an auto 1 match ban, which you cant appeal and dependin on how you handle yourself at the discipline hearin it gets worse, clubs that have had players who were suspended say for 2 games with a big game within those 2 games suddenly get a league or local cup game instead that frees the player for the big mjc or fai game that was put back a week,u think im just makin it up thats your progative, its who you know, for instance,i heard that a team who travelled for a game in the last round (dublin/sligo direction)asked for there 40% gate recipts only to be told go fxxx yourself by the other team who have been proptly dealt with by area 51,yet another team travellin for a tie wernt offered anythin at all by there hosts and nothin happens to them, just a thought.......................it was mainly a rye look at what i perceive as that current state of play in juniorland, take from it what you will, but it dose get you thinkin
Lads, if you get sent of in an fai junior cup match, you automatically stand suspended for the next round of this competition .....black and white...
Agree with HooperLooper and know for a fact that a Dublin side who travelled to Waterford last season (and won) were told to fcuk off when they went looking for their share of a decent gate. The FAI did nothing about it either.
The previous poster is right and a player sent off in Junior Cup AUTOMATICALLY misses next game. Would be surprised if Carrick are silly enough to disregard this rule.
leather I'd be interested to know your opinion on a situation where a player gets sent off and gets a one match ban...his team gets a walkover in the next round..is he still suspended or does the walkover serve as his ban?
Has anybody come accross this scenario before?
pike have been knocking around in the latter stages for the last few years now, maybe this year will be their year
