Careful now! If its a trip to Harps and I am able to go it is to be look forward to if not for the football, if its UCD definitely nope, Bray is too cold, Cobh is too far, and Athlone Ive never been since St Mels days. Weve been relegated and won the cup...we've also won a playoff and not been promoted, finished bottom and not been relegated so ye just never know!

Lot of averages down in the First Division
Have no idea who is in charge of the Dundalk figures but Drogs game was between 3,200 and 3,500, it was actually laughed out loud in our section when that figure was called out. Plus there were queues to get in and a lot missed the first 5 mins.
Drogs took 500 or so, stand was almost full (1k), and another 500 at the town side of the stand, easily 200-300 infront of the stand, so that's well over 2k on one side, without counting behind the goal or the well packed shed side.
Previous seasons were prob not too far off, but there is abs no way there is a drop in 200 or so this year. I would say slightly up, def not an avg of 3k, but would think around 2,700 sounds about right.
No idea how they are getting it so wrong this year with counts.
Dundalk - 2,439 (2,636; 2,689;
The interest levels around First Division is well down this year, for reasons already discussed on here about standard, runaway leaders, and everyone just being a bit crap.
There's plenty of entertainment to be had, some lovely goals, but it's thoroughly unexciting for the most part.

3102 at RSC.
Usually always announce the attendance in Oriel, didn't last night. Thought there would be a big crowd in as they had 20% off online tickets and free ice cream for kids but the stand wasn't even full. Not a great crowd
I heard it in the away end of the stand, was 2000+ can't remember the actual figure announced
I was at St Pats Sligo Rovers match serious crowd and atmosphere at it. Announcement made of approx 3100 fans .
Any figure for Tolka ?. The terracing at both ends of the Riverside Stand looked good, viewed from the main stand, pity there wasn't an extra 300/400 more to give a more fuller look.
4596 is the figure I was looking for. A bit disappointing for such a big game. Did live tv reduced the crowd? more promotion work needs to be done by Shels?
3,537 in Cork.
710 in Mounthawk Park, which aside from the Cork match is the best home attendance since April.

I'm not very familiar with the town but does the club have any presence there? Is there a club shop or posters promoting games? Do many players live there? I always enjoy going to Bishopsgate, it's a fine ground, sad to see attendances dropping so low
Answer is no on all fronts but as I've pointed out before, the town itself is in an awful hape economically. A good portion of Longford people have to look for work outside the county, a lot of people working in the big employers in the town have come from outside the county or country so that makes it tougher for the club to form a connection with them (not impossible of course, more needs to be done but it's a skeleton volunteer crew out there who have been keeping the club ticking for decades now). Population of the town is only around 10k so if town were getting 1k a week it would actually be an insane success story. I'm hoping the club will bounce back in coming seasons, we've got a brilliant owner but long term you'd have to begin to ask yourself if a place like Longford can sustain a LOI club.
