His agent has also sounded out numerous LoI clubs.
Ach sure he was in a winning Bundesliga squad given a medal or not... Its still more likely positive for WFC. If it doesnt pan out as Power hopes then WUFC may be back in the mix:eek:
But he still had the experience of being part of a German league winning squad... Aside from that it’s great for the young keepers at the club to have his knowledge and experience passed onto them. I think this is his fourth season now as coach at the club. The link should of been utilized years before he even got involved with the club.
As expected, Waterford FC have confirmed Cummins departure. The experienced striker is expected to sign for Cork City. Cummins had been third choice centre back prior to the break, but as things stand, we’ve now lost our three centre backs. The first choice centre back pairing have left due to expiry of loans and now Cummins too. Bar Murphy and O’Connor, no other new names mentioned yet. It’s expected Sheridan will bring in a couple players from the UK.
We look a bit short going into the first game. I do believe the start date is too soon for clubs.
Has anyone heard anything about Pats? They seem very quiet the at the moment. The last time I read anything about them and it was about Kelleher causing issue with the restart a couple weeks ago.
Back training I heard , but no word yet on how the squad is fixed.Quote:

JS was a fantastic international player, may only have played 30+ times, but I loved watching his style with Ireland, he was very underrated by loads of Irish fans IMO, and is usually not mentioned as ones people talk about, not sure why. He was excellent in USA 94, hit the bar v Norway, some passer too, all action stuff.
Good luck to him at Waterford.
Hit the bar against Italy. Nearly scored with a chip against Norway. A super player.
Derry have signed Adam Hamill. He was still quality in England’s League Two. Bizarre
Not surprising that he's run out of league sides over the water to give him a chance given how much he's flip-flopped throughout his career. Could be a cracking signing for Derry if he settles at all though. Despite not supporting either side I remember randomly being at the Keys/Gray Gate game of Wolves-Liverpool many years ago and I seem to remember Hammill coming on for what I believe was his debut and Wolves fans being of the belief he could become the focal point of their side.
He’s been well regarded at some of his English clubs looking at the comments on Derry’s Facebook page.
Surplus to requirements at Scunthorpe as the manager of the time didn’t want flair players just cloggers and I gather didn’t fit in at Stockport.
Sounds like he could be another Paddy Mc at the end of his career - just lights up a game every so often with some skills if he settles and is lucky with injuries.
Badly needed
Superb signing. Goal Machine.
Yeah I had us relegated already but if he can hit the ground running it’ll give us a chance
Great signing, and a superb return on the fundraising efforts.
Where would you see him playing? We had him as a striker, but he's more of an a wing forward really.
Presumably (hopefully!) he'll be missing the first game of the restart in the Brandywell.
Fascinating that this is the same Sligo who were trying to get the whole season cancelled as they couldn’t afford to continue with no income and weren’t paying their players. I assumed the fundraising they did was to get through the remainder of the season with their existing costs covered.
Nonetheless it is a great signing for them.
Sligo are constantly out with the poor mouth to their locality and that's not even a knock on them they do really well out it.
Similar situation to Dundalk advantages wise actually
Gaelic Muckball team are consistently terrible.
Hurling doesn't exist.
Rugby doesn't exist.
Plus you'd have to assume a lot of the people donating are people who would have normally sponsored a match ball, programme etc in normal times.
I say fairplay to them.
There's a lot of navel gazing goes on around league of Ireland about development and facilities and blah blah won't someone think of the children.
Do you know what's an even better way to get people to support you.
Having a decent striker!
What a signing for Sligo rovers! Im quite impressed. Im very surprised that Derry didnt attempt to resign him at all any reason Derry City fans?
In Longford Town news its not on our website as of yet but Lewis Shaw broke on his twitter feed that we have signed from Dundalk on loan Eric Abulu he played for us in Oriel.
Dundalk fans any opinion on Eric?
We're not sure. I'd hazard a guess that we would have tried, but that Sligo are simply paying more. Junior won't be cheap.
Separately, we've signed James Akintunde. English forward, signed from Maidenhead.

Lido Lotefa played for Longford the other night and is joining them on loan.
If you play him up front on his own at any stage you will have completed wasted the player.
He is best by far on either side of a 3.
Terrific player though and some signing. Had to have been a fair few € thrown at that.

Lotefa played the last 20 mins in the Unite the Union cup 6-0 win v Linfield, replacing Jamie McGrath in what was his last game for Dundalk.
Thought he was very good, showed real strength on and off the ball, I'd say this will only be a short deal on loan, but good move for him to get games, Longford getting a decent player.
Was Lotefa born in Ireland Oriel?
What I mean is where are his parents from?
Shane Doherty resigned back for gufc delighted that he’s back.
I know you didn't mean it as a dig but just to clarify, Sligo Rovers are never really out with the 'poor mouth'. This is a fundraiser, just like all the other fundraisers we do season after season. ITs not so much the club 'doing really well out of it', its everybody doing well out of it ... the club, the fans, the community, the showgrounds, the business. Rovers really forms a huge part of the identity and culture of Sligo, so everybody understands that and the connection means that people are more than happy to donate. I sell annual draw tickets every summer and 80% of the people buying tickets wont set foot in the Showgrounds, but they all say how great it is to see the summer camps, the joy that the club has brought, the tradition, etc.
