Hopefully Parrot’s associations are not holding him back.
Starts and scores today.
Obafemi back getting game time and looking strong at seasons end. Idah closes with last goal of season for championship champs, and now Parrott scores in final game of season. After a painful season, finally some hope going into the summer?!
i was wondering if Parrot can play for Spurs in any of their final three games (Wolves, Villa, and Leicester), but since he was still with Millwall in January, and then Ipswich until the end of the season, playing for Tottenham in any of those games would mean he can't go on loan next season, because that would mean playing for more than three teams in one calendar year, correct?
I wonder will he ever play first team football for spurs again
I'm sure I read somewhere that the three teams in a calendar year thing had been dropped for now due to Covid.
Parrott, Obafemi, Idah and Connolly get just enough game time at the end to raise our hopes for next season.... we need more like Omobamidele who come out of nowhere to impress immediately and not the long slow disappointment of so many others.
Often with young players you get the initial breakthrough followed by the slow disappointing realisation that it's going to take a few years for them to fully develop. So we'll probably get the disappointment with Omobamidele next season but hopefully a few of the others might kick on again. Parrott's last couple of games after breaking back into the Ipswich team have certainly renewed a bit of hope with him, though hopefully without the levels of hype that came before.
The Athletic are reporting Troy Parrott is off to MK Dons for the season. He wasn't going to get a Championship move so, in England anyway, this is as good a move as any. Young manager. O'Hora already there. Close to London.
Atleast now that he’s given up trying to have a prosperous football career he can focus on his priorities such as DELETED
Confirmed on their website. Good move under a progressive manager and close to London. First up is Mark Travers on Saturday in the league cup
Apparently he turned down a move to Feyenoord a few days ago, which seemed like a bizarre suggestion. Glad to see him find a club in League 1, I'd rather see our players play forty times a season at a smaller club than sit on the bench or play in the reserves at a larger one.
The Feyenoord rumour was started by IrishPropaganda on twitter, and some accounts are doubting it was genuine.
Bad start to Troy’s MK Dons stint. The manager who recruited him, Russ Martin, has left to Swansea…
goal for Troy, pulling 1 back at home to Sunderland who had led 0-2.
Great to see him get off the mark so quickly. I had a quick look at the sky sports tracker: after no mentions in the first half, he seems to be central to MK Dons' play in the second half. https://www.skysports.com/football/m...nd/live/447907

Troy Parrott (MK Dons) wins a free kick in the defensive half.
Saw his goal last night, lovely movement and a super touch and finish. Here’s hoping.
Goal here just after the minute mark-

It's two in two for Mr Troy Parrott.......
Oh, and now he has an assist. I wonder- could it turn out that Troy is actually good at football?
Got to keep in mind it is at a level Stephen Kenny has deemed not good enough for the squad in general, but great to see still. We've had too many false starts for too many of our players, and we really need some to start coming through this season
I think this has the makings of a great loan for Parrott - it's the first time he has gone to a team that plays decent football and are willing to play him as a striker. Also, it's probably better that it's League 1 than Championship as another bad Championship loan could start to do some serious damage to his prospects. If he goes well and scores 15 or so goals this season he'll get a Championship loan next season and will have another year of development behind him and hopefully be more ready for the step up.
The EPL likely to be a few years away for him at best, but he's only 19 so plenty of time for that in future.
Watched Charlton tonight (my team), Troy played against us , scored and overall played very well, great movement especially from him, was involved throughout, and I think he has bulked up a bit.
Cheers for that. Sounds like he took pre season seriously.
His goal is here. Not the most difficult of chances but he made the touch and finish look easy: https://twitter.com/RepTracker/statu...419896835?s=20
Edit: It wasn't the most difficult of chances because of the brilliant run which mugged the defence and the touch. So fair play.
That was a lovely goal, all about the anticipation, from the moment the ball went back to the keeper, he's drifted off into his own space. Great movement as soon as the MK midfielder wins his duel in the middle, Parrott off like a light, off like a light. Smooth finish.
The funny thing is I can see him scoring against Portugal,( if he plays) we wont collect any points but these guys are confidence players and when they start scoring the tend to continue
He might be confident going into the game, but who's going to set up the chance for him to take? That'd be my worry.
You worry a lot Pineapple. Your worrying days should be well over by now.
just on Parrott's contract, I had a quick look there. By the end of this loan, he'll have a year left. How do the good folk of foot.ie see that working out?
I mean, by the looks of it, this loan to MK is a good one and could give him a platform to push on. Despite my own personal hopes, he's unlikely to be in Spurs first team squad next season, going into the final year of his contract, and you'd expect a loan to the championship especially if he signs a new contract. Wonder what happens if he doesn't sign though? Would they bury him in the 23's?
Being pessimistic is the way to go with our team. If you're not proven right, then you're pleasantly surprised. It's win win!
Pessimistic Or Sudden Hypercritical Logic. "Win/win" is certainly right.
Hypercritical?
I didn't think it was possible to be overly critical of how ****e we are at present! :p

Parrotts goal and assist from yesterday. The assist was class
The first touch for the assist was class but the way the ball eventually found the goalscorer was a bit jammy, no?
