Well Bridge should go away and buy their own pitch so, ya are in football long enough
to play their if theyre pitch was unavailable ?????
And if it was not for Ferryhouse where would Clonmel Town's 2nd team and Schoolboys have played for the last 10 Years!
im not slaggin ferryhouse! when u have 10 to 15 team through all ages groups they all cant play on the same pitch can they, get real here hammer! your missing the point
Pony i didnt know u could sell land when you are leasing a premises, unfortunately you are uninformed! town have sold two patches of land in the complex, to the Bridge club on the left hand side and also the far side where they have sold that to the Athletic club, the only piece they didnt own was the behind the goal and they bought that recently off the corporation where they are now building a schoolboy pitch.
get your facts right before you say anything here!
oldbridge are great club with great history, im sure they would love to have there own pitch but with current economic climate its prob not possible, so there in ferryhouse. ur bit out of order having a pop over that. is oldbridges old pitch in the town completly gone now or whats the story with it? also when you say every team owns there own pitch i doubt that is true alot of country teams in div 3 or 4 are just playing out of farmers fields that they get for free so they dont own them when your a town team like oldbridge you dont really have that option.
Old Bridges pitch in the town , Green Lane, is after been dug up due to the flood relief plan that is been worked on in Clonmel. Old Bridge are very greatful to ferryhouse for the use of the pitch and Clonmel Town should also be greatful cause where would there B and Youth teams play.
The Bridge have tried on many occasions to secure a site in Clonmel for a new pitch and have been promised by the corporation on numerous occasions that they would give Old Bridge a new pitch cause they wanted to dig up Green Lane.
But of course that never happened........why?? Cause Bridge are not a "big" club in Clonmel.
Old Bridge asked for the Poppyfield pitch 3yrs ago and never got it. It was a soccer field and was to be given to a soccer team in the town and now its been used for under age hurling for St.Marys and Commercials......don't they have their own pitch and grounds as it is....disgrace. If the Bridge got this pitch they could have developed the club further and maybe even started some youths or schoolboys like they had 15yrs ago when they had the best schoolboy and under age teams in the town.
The corportation have said they will get Green Lane sorted after the flood relief is done but I am afraid that their will be no Old Bridge Club by the time that happens i think.
Im sorry to hear about the situation with Old Brodge. Its annoying when the "smaller" clubs are ignored like this. The attitude of some people on here slagging Old Bridge is pathetic.
comeontownnow you really do let your club down with a bang. EVERY club started from nothing and worked their way up. i would say unless there was an awful lot of hard work put in by some of your club ye would have nothing either and judging by your attitude id say your not one of the men who puts in the hard work because if you could understand how hard it is to run a club never mind buy a field you might stop with the ridiculous comments. ac milan/inter even have to share a field and your having a go at a sunday league team, grow up lad.
Some great days in the history of CTFC have come about because of former Old Bridge players. Ollie Cahill, Paul Scully. Old Bridge deserve credit for developing these two players amongst others. I know they flourished at Town but Town did get some very good raw material.
speaking off facilities lads , any story with whats happening with rock rovers set up, are the pitches still maintained or are they overgrown, is astro turf still going . superb set up over there its pity they had to withdraw from league this year
surely another free weekend in the TSDL, cant see any pitches being playable?
major over reaction here, i wasnt slagging the old bridge, i remarked to a comment made that when Town offered the complex to the bridge the mornin of the game which then was also deemed unplayable, that the home advantage should return back to the bridge, i wasnt slaggin them, my family home is over the bridge so i know whats goin on ther over the years so dont need any outsiders especially from nenagh makin any comments to me on this, ye have your own forum, stick to it, rant over!
In reply to tipp top... I was wondering the same myself, hopefully a decision can be made before saturday night if ye get my drift
supposed to be a bit of sunshine on sunday according to weather reports, might thaw out the pitches

I see from the Tipp FM facebook page that Muiris Walsh is getting his own show on Saturdays.
Is this his own Soccer show? that would be great and about time- he is excellent

FAI cancel all games under their jurisdiction this weekend
Because of the adverse weather conditions currently affecting the country, the FAI Domestic Committee, Junior Council, Youth Committee and Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland have cancelled all national cup fixtures under their jurisdiction scheduled for this weekend (week-ending December 5, 2010). (FAI Website: www.fai.ie)
Would that include munster junior cup games west hammer?
I don't think so, the Munster Council run their own Cup, but that said I would expect them to follow suit after FAI statement. Talking to some off the lads involved with Clubs around West Tipp, games have no chance of being played Sunday. All pitches frozen solid.
Looks as if Carrick Utd have to travel to Cork to play Leeds AFC in Munster Senior Cup today.
Only any FAI Cup games down to be played this weekend are affected. Munster Cup and Junior league games depend on pitches being inspected by Clubs or if League demands left to the Ref to decide. I'd say results list will be short again this week. Thaw coming Mid week so hopefully back to normal next weekend!!
Clonmel celtic v borris is going ahead anyway.
Saints win 5-1 in Wilderness, Rossie with a hat trick and Foggie with 2, Wilderness reduced to 10 men at 2 nil down! Not a Yetti in-sight!
Only 2 games played the Wilderness v Michaels and 1 Div 3 game. Forecast for next weekend is good , dry and above avg temp for Dec, the thaw starts from Wed on so all games should be OK.
Ridiculous decision to play games today in all fairness though. The pitches all over the country would have been bone hard after the weather we've had, and if a player got badly injured, could people honestly have said that the hardness of the ground shouldn't have been a reason for postponement.
It's galling to be honest.
I dont think pitches were actually rock hard to be honest, there was a serious thaw the last few days. The pitch in borris was playable.
Maybe they got more heat in Borris, but all the other 20 odd games in Tipp were not called off by the Clubs just so they could all go xmas shopping. A frozen pitch is the most dangerous surface players can try to play on, a player can very easily brake an ankle on a frozen bumpy pitch!
I wasnt there but was told the ground was soft under foot so thats why it went ahead. The traveling side of things for teams as a group and for players as individuals to get their clubs is another aspect of things but if you dont turn up you get punished its a catch 22.
Carrick United (I KNOW THEY ARE NOT IN THE TSDL ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE) traveled to Lee-Side in Cork only to be told when they got their that the pitch was unplayable. 300 Euros for a bus OOOCCCHHHIIIEEE!
It was Leeds FC lads and yes Carrick are raging.
2 full weekends fixtures lost and it's only start of Dec, any more weekends lost and we will have the old March - April problem of most clubs only playing every 2 - 3 weeks waiting for the Cup run teams that are having to play 2 games a week to get leagues finished. At least it will give us something else to complain about!
But hey at least it drags on teams seasons....if a team was knocked out of all cups, there season will nearly be over with only about 3 or 4 mathches for all after christmas. This is an example of a b team or maybe division 2or3 team. It keeps people doing a bit of activity.
cahir park are out of every cup since november and have only 4 league games left if it was not for inactivity of last few weeks they could have had there season finished easily before xmas madness really
