What Should the LDMC be Doing for Clubs ?

Well lets see

Most registrations are in by August but there are players being registered all year
Fixtures are always being updated due to bad weather or national cup games or even free weekends
Clubs submit transfer requests and the registrar transfers the players, there are many issues that arise around transfers on a weekly basis
Discipline is a serious matter that is ongoing on a weekly basis, the two players you mentioned are not the only major discipline issues this season but the others did not get the same profile.
The OT managers have the responsibility of managing the squads the rest is down to others, transport, hospitality, gear and all the trappings of a normal club.
Other things like grant applications, ground maintenance, development, meetings with other bodies, insurance issues, supporting clubs who request help. meeting with referees, representing the LDL on national and regional bodies, assisting players who have issues with clubs, Amongst many others things

I do agree that it is not rocket science but at the same time lets not belittle the work that is done on a voluntary basis on all clubs behalf. There are many many other tasks and issues being dealt with that can directly and indirectly impact the players and clubs if they are not completed on a weekly basis.

As for the infighting, cant argue, there is far too much going on and the sooner it stops the better for everybody. but in the mean time lets cut a little slack to anyone who is trying.

for those who are trying the fans of junior football salute you.

whats the story with insurance im led to believe alot of clubs dont have any, whats your view on this one time goalie(name change no1 likes to be called old)

The league has a list of all clubs and their insurance details, If clubs are nearing their renewal dates they are notified by their insurers and if the League has no current cert the league will no doubt take appropriate action.

It is a requirement of the FAI that all clubs be covered by insurance and this is to be dealt with at a local level by the leagues

so if a player breaks his leg and is out of work for a lenghty period does that club insurance cover him or how does it work?

find a way for lower leagues to get a game of soccer????

please its a waste of time saying we have to inform the committee there is a problem. anyone with sense would see there is problem.

each team paid the same membership so how can it be justified that several teams in the lower divisions n the last two to three months have played one, two or three games.

i'm sorry but its now beyond a joke

No the insurance is public liability insurance, players should have their own insurance unless the club has a coverall policy that included players insurance. You should contact your club for details of their policy. If clubs or players need advice they should contact the league.

Hi Holycrossjock

This is an anonymous forum to express your views, the league needs to hear from clubs in order to give credence to what you are saying. There have only been one or two clubs who have complained about the lack of games! No matter how many times you mention the problem here it wont do any good, I will again bring it up but the reply will be there are no complaints from clubs so there is no problem. If you want change then talk to your club chairman and secretary and have them contact the league secretary. Otherwise the status quo will apply. Every club has the right to ask questions and have them answered, you are correct when you state that the fees are the same for each team and they should all be treated equally, you have rights as clubs but you must exercise those rights. If you would like the matter discussed in more detail send a mail to the league secretary, but I will mention the bones of your argument

Simple answer Get a fiixtures secretary who gives a s**t the current one is only interested in getting one over on his mortal enemies and anyone who questions him. you had lower leagues games left out while the top teams get linesmen in their fai games! crap, they didnt even ask for them cause our club asked the league if they were aware that other teams were not getting games and they answered that they did not know that they were put in. He makes out that its a real big deal to do the fixtures other leagues in dublin are bigger than ours and its done at the beginning of the season with just as few refs. I know cause I played up there for a few years and it was sweet you got a booklet at the beginning of the season detailing all the games and also the cups and the dates.
anyway your club has no cedibility as you just do as the fixtures god tells ye like signing his letters

Referees outside the city!

I would like to see referees kept away from their local clubs. Everytime we have traveled to the likes of Herbertstown, Caherconlish, Knockainey and Trinity we end up with the same referees that are on first name terms with the home team and in some cases are drinking buddies this leads to a reluctance to give critical decisions in favour of the away team. To add insult they get more money than usual for these games despite the fact they dont travel far.

That definitely happens. We have played in all those places and have had one ref in particular for a lot of those games. Ref in question is from Herbertstown and would know a lot of the players from clubs like Herbertstown, Caherconlish, Holycross etc. You are at a disadvantage even before kick off but not that matters to the FS. It just makes things easier for him.

probably being a bit negative but looking at the stormy weather again today-LDMC should cancel fixtures ( apart from FAI of course ) today/tomorrow and let people get on with their weekends rather then getting up early Sunday travelling etc-

I'd say only the best pitches could hold this rain, and even they could be ruined for the winter if they were played on, so might even be better not play on them either

bit harsh there mate :( no need for it. he is a good ref, so what if he knows there names.

I was just responding to somehting northsiderkid said but I have a feeling he is talking about the same person.

Only telling the truth as I see it Jock, but any time I see him down to do an away game of ours I dont look forward to it.

We were playing Southend a few seasons ago up there and he was doing it. When he lined up the players to check shingueards etc he said to our players to not get involved with anyone as we all know what they are like. Thats what he said. Anyway during the game one of the Southend players caught my centre back by the throat and then slapped him in the face. Not even a booking cos he scared ****less. When that happened I knew we were going home with 0 points and we did.

He sent me from the line in Caherconlish a few years ago and came to me at half time to shake hands and allow me back for the second half.

The As were playing Shannon at the start of the season and were down 2-1. Shannon broke and had a defo peno turned down with about 5 mins left. Coming off the pitch he said to me that it was a peno but he knew it was going to finish 2-1!!!!

While we need all the refs, there are some who are weak just like there are refs who are too strict and behave like headmasters. This particular ref is weak and if you get him out near his home he is naturally going to favour his neighbours. There are quite a few refs in town that would know the names of some of my players but that doesnt mean they get any advantage.

i think people look to much into things there are looking for things that don't exist, do here us teams from the county complaining about refs from the city refereeing games for city teams. its paranioa and what teams should be concentrating is playing better football than the oppposition so a ref decision or lack of doesn't lose them points.
what you see is weak in decisions i might see someone letting the game flow a little more rather than blowing the whistle every fart second which i personally hate seein all the time. Now i'm not talk ing about this particular ref here now when i'm saying this now.

This is the only ref I would say it about so it has nothing to do with county refs in general. Just so happens he is from the county.

We always concentrate on playing the better football than the opposition. And mostly do. ;)

hope you won't be saying that about me in the next couple of years, i've registered with the ref branch, i look forward to refing a coonagh match in the future :) :p
