Heard NCW West AFC were lucky enough.Heard their keeper made a super save from Joyce in the second half.Rovers missed a few chances in both halves.Who scored for both teams? Broadford had a much needed win. Will Adare get any points this season?
Shannonside are pulling away in the league. They wont be stopped now I'd say.
Season is moving along nicely lads, a couple of teams will have a third of there league games played after this weekend.
shannonside are flying abbeyfeale going well too rathkeale and newcastlewest also finding a bit of form lately....
Interesting few weeks ahead, if the weather stays on our side the first half of fixtures could be played by christmas !!
Shannonside will hardly drop any points the way they are playing this year. They must be nearly 1-3 on at this stage to win the premier?
I think there are some people here getting a bit carried away with the shannonside thing, yes they have had a very good start to the League & in the MJC last weekend but its still only beginning of October, no league is ever won in October, and statements like ''they will win Premier....'' are a bit premiture.
Its obvious the 'tennis court' in Shanagolden is helping Shannonside. Its suits them to hoof long balls up to Behan on that pitch.
True for you Torres no league is one in October but they are going well and a good start is very important in this league. I dont think the wider pitchs will suit them as they are not a pacy side.
Shannonside have made a great start but I don't think they will finish in top 2 at the end, a lot depends on when GAA start training again as always with them. First division looks exciting, vert tight I expect Ballingarry to pull away and it could be any of 4 or 5 after that to get promoted.
What are the issues with Shannonsides pitch, surely its the same surface for both sides, and as I understand it, this is Shannonsides first season playing there also. Not sure where the "hoof" merhcants label comes from, I'd say its slightly unfair, they do play good football and Behan's qualities lay in his touch, ability to hold the ball up and bring others into the game rather than flicking the ball on. Agree that there are no medals handed out after 5 games, leagues are not won before Christmas but can certainly be lost. Also there are a few quick lads on that side, and you don't have to be lightning quick to read the game, awareness on the pitch and seeing things will usually get an older, experienced player into position before them young whiper snappers. All in all though its been a good start to the season and long may it continue, makes for a fascinating Sunday afternoon, seeing the results.
On a separate issue, great to see Rathkeale beat Fermoy and progress there, Carrick Utd next, any predictions?
Oscar Traynor tomorrow evening, be interesting to see who turns up, have heard there are a few players who won't be there.
Would be ince if the season finished earlier than it has done for the last two, its been running on too long of late. I'd say that most sides, certainly in the premier would have played half their league matches before Christmas, depending on their cup runs. Certainly agree with it becoming more and more interesting over the next few weeks.
Ya the pitch in Shanagolden in a new field and only opened up this year !!! Get a grip lad, of course the majority of Shannonside are used to this pitch. You do know that Shannonside are a combination of Shanagolden and Foynes !! The pitch suits their style of play thats the point Im making.Who are their quick players besides O' Connor ?
Who are the players you heard wont be turning up for the Oscar Traynors?

Have a look at this map. Having gotten lost on my way to Killeaney a number of times  I've been maintaining a list of Desmond League pitches I've been to
I'm aware of the almalgamation of the two sides, however the lads from Shanagolden haven't played there for over two years, and certainly the lads who played for Foynes would'nt have played that often there either. The quick players; Mulivihill, both the lane's, Ian Ryan, dillane, aswell as the mentioned O'Connor.
I heard, now don't qoute me on it....Griffin won't be there, not sure if any of the Askeaton lads are interested, the Glin players and Hanlon et al from Shannonside.
Killeaney are a good side to watch, get the ball down and play football, they were good when we played them earlier in the season and it was a good match to be in. On Killeaney, Sheahan is a doubt now for them, damaged his knee playing for Glin in the football. He'll be a big loss to them.
