Fermoy v Everton.
Game called off. Pitch was very soft, rain was belting down and after a simple warm up drill on the pitch it was already cutting up and would have been dangerous in the tackle. Would have been played in my day, but hey we used to allow a lot of things back then!!!
A tough one for Everton to take as they had travelled, but correct decision in the opinion of both managers, the ref and the groundsmen.
No game next week for us now, if anyone wants a friendly pls let me know.

Can't believe any team had to travel this morning,some of the best pitches in cork were very soft yesterday,never mind the rain over night.

I was up at College Corinthians v Blarney on saturday and the pitch was immaculate - best I have seen in years. Good game of football too, College were mad to play ball from the back (i thought they would get caught out but they kept at it). College won 1-0 and Blarney missed a late penalty, which being fair was never a spotter. Blarney lad slipped and keeper never touched him but the ref was the other side of it.Quote:

Maybe if they showed a bit more loyalty to last years manager who brought them to the intermediate cup semi final the so called mercenaries wouldn't have left
There are very few players one club players anymore in any walk of football.
It's probably a good thing that people have the freewill to choose but like everything, can be taken too far.

Quarter Finals to be played week ending January 4th to 6th
Rockmount and Avondale sunday morning should be a cracker especially with a place in a cup final at stake. Should be a good test for Rockmount and especially the new additions to the team. You'd have to fancy Avondale but with home advantage for Rockmount there won't be much in it. From what i've seen of Rockmount they are a work in progress which can't be said for Avondale who have quality all over the park and on the bench. Games like these really show what players are really made of and highlight the average player from the player with that bit of class. League or Keane cup when it comes to these two neither will want to lose. No place to hide at Rockmount Park sunday morning. Prediction Rockmount 1-2 Avondale

Excellent win for UCC. Was at the game and they thoroughly deserved the win. Handbags at the end of the game aswell.
Rockmount 0-2 Avondale this morning.
Bad morning for us this morning from start to finish. Started the game with 10. Keeper had to get out of a sick bed to play. Fair play to Dale. Played well. Whilst not making any match defining decisions I genuinely thought the referee this morning had a very poor game. Very quick with the cards. It was hardly a dirty game.
Douglas hall 2-0 Fermoy.
A good first half from Fermoy deserved a goal of two. Never came, blatant spotter not given after a two footed assault by the keeper on a player through one on one.
Second half barely on when a slip at the back left in their winger who we fouled for a clear pen. Scored and thn we had to chase it. Couple of half chances were not taken. They broke and clinically scored a second.
Roll on Corinthians next week.
Watched the game and thought both teams deserved a draw. Midleton certainly had enough chances. Ucc played well though. Midleton keeper had a nightmare.Quote:

They started with John Hayes in goal, O'Connell came after 20 mins and they put John Hayes up front. Would of been unfair to whip a player after 20mins so they just stated with10. They had 4 on the bench.Quote:

What about Ballinhassig in the 2nd Div. Two wins back to back and against decent opposition in Glasheen and Kinsale. Apparently they have drafted in half of the local Gaa club to save the day and it looks like it's working. Next week it's away to Wilton and i fancy them to continue the good run. You heard it here first, the Hassig to take points from Wilton away. Apparently this one is their cup final and a result here means everything to the locals.
i going to say ringmahon will have a big say in this first div.won 4 on bounce in the leauge since new mangers in place,that includes cit.i heard for the first time this season they had 15 seniors players availble on friday night.if they manage to beat carrigaline on friday they will have 18 out of 27.young lads collins by and far the best player in the leauge
yeah things are starting to look good for a change.players coming back from suspension and injury . Roy Collins.he got a goal Friday night .ran from half way line with ball and beat the defence. on his day he one of the best around
Does this deal cork city and Ucc affect Corinthians deal ? Only heard it awhile ago.
